A Worthy Purpose
God has given each of us a purpose in life. Do you sometimes wonder what purpose He has given you? Well, if you are a homeschool mom who is homeschooling your children with Heart of Dakota (HOD), you have found your purpose in life, at least in part. When we homeschool our children with Christ-centered curricula like HOD, we are inviting God into our homes and into our children’s hearts. God thought this was so important that He had this to say about it:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)
Homeschool mothers have a worthy, God-given purpose!
We have an important role as mothers. First, we are to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength. Second, we are to impress God’s commandments upon our children. Third, we are to talk about them constantly – when we sit at home and when we leave our home; when we lie down and when we get up – virtually always. We can do this much more easily and successfully when we homeschool. We have time on our side. By choosing a Christian homeschool program like HOD, we are choosing to make God a part of our children’s education all day.
Heart of Dakota’s plans give due diligence to the Lord. They keep Him a part of our children’s everyday homeschool lives. Simply by teaching the plans, we homeschool moms are doing what we can to be sure our children are growing up to know the Lord. This is no small purpose in life.
Is your purpose worthy ‘enough’?
Do you ever wonder if your purpose if worthy ‘enough’? Permit me to answer definitively. It IS! What if every Christian mother, by the grace of God, was able to homeschool her children to know and love the Lord? Would it be ‘enough’ if her legacy was only this? If only her own children came to know and love the Lord? If only her own children, who by believing in our Lord Jesus Christ, have eternal life? Yes, and yes again, I say! Never, ever, underestimate your purpose as a homeschool mom homeschooling your children with Christ-centered homeschool materials.
There is no greater gift to give our children than the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He is the cornerstone of education. Without Him, there is no knowledge.
So, when you wake up to homeschool your children, remember – you are living out your God-given purpose. You are worthy! You are important! God sees what you are doing, and He loves it. Press on – the harvest awaits.
In Christ,
Julie
