Capture your homeschool memories now to enjoy them again later!
Homeschooling with Heart of Dakota (HOD), you will be making many precious memories! One way I have captured those memories is by taking photos of my sons’ homeschooling. When I first started homeschooling, my phone did not have a camera. Today, most phones do have cameras, and pretty amazing cameras at that! So, capturing your memories so you can enjoy them again later is easier than ever.
Capture your homeschool memories and display them!
Once you begin taking pictures of your favorite homeschool memories, you will have many pictures! Every now and then, go through those pictures and choose some favorites. You can order online 4 x 6 prints for 9 cents each and free or inexpensive home delivery from Walmart. Homeschool photos look great hung on the fridge with a magnet, hung on a child’s bedroom door with double-sided tape, or hung a closet door as a collage. If you choose to do a printed photo collage, build it a little at a time. You can add printed photos each month or so. By the end of the year, you will have an entire photo collage display of your HOD homeschool memories!
Capture your homeschool memories and share them!
Precious homeschool memories are meant to be shared! If you don’t have the time or inclination to print your photos, there are ample ways to share them that don’t require printing. Do you have a husband that travels or is gone for extended periods of time for work? Why not text or email him some pictures you’ve taken of your kiddos during homeschooling? He would probably love to see what you are doing and feel a part of it from afar. Or, maybe your parents or your in-laws live far away from you? Or, maybe they live close to you, but you just don’t see them all that often. Either way, why not text or email them some fun pictures from your homeschooling? It would probably make their day!
Or, maybe you are blessed enough to still have living grandparents! It is rare to have printed photos today. It is equally as rare to receive mail. Why not take a moment and print some photos and put them in the mail to your grandparents? I bet they would be so happy to get some mail and some pictures of their grandchildren and see what they are learning in homeschooling.
Capture your homeschool memories and do something with them later!
Maybe you are reading this and thinking there is no way you have time to print or share these homeschool memories now. That’s okay! I understand. Sometimes life is just crazy busy. However, you can still snap some pictures now and then! This doesn’t have to be a daily thing. Maybe you pick one day a week to try to take pictures of your homeschooling. Even if you only take one picture one day each week, you’ll have at least 35 precious pictures at the end of the year! You will always have these pictures and can do something with them later. You can make a calendar, a photobook, or a canvas wall hanging of your favorites years from now! I started making an annual photobook of our family’s year. I now have over a dozen photobooks, and I often see my husband and sons looking through them. We even put our photobooks in baskets on tables at our two sons’ high school graduation parties. Such precious memories! My only regret is I didn’t start taking pictures sooner. So, start earlier than me – start capturing your homeschool memories today and enjoy them now and for years to come!
In Christ,
Julie
