Heart of Dakota Tidbit:
Christ belongs in our material!
Did you know Carrie has been asked to remove all Christ-centered material from HOD’s guides, with the promise of reaching a larger market? We refused, sharing our number one priority has been writing the guides in such a way that it is virtually impossible to remove Christ!
At HOD, we have only one catalog, one set of guides, and one priority – to keep Christ at the center of HOD!
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for that! It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to HOD. There’s really nothing else like it out there.
Thank God for your conviction there! I once read a “negative” review where the person said there was too much Bible in HOD. The next day, I bought my first guide and set from HOD. Thank you for keeping at the center, what *should* be at the center.
Reading this makes my day! So thankful for HOD’s commitment to the Lord!!
Thank you for all your hard work and for keeping Christ the center of all you do! You have blessed our family! I know the Lord is smiling……..well done good and faithful one. May you be blessed ten fold!
I wish more people realized HOD isn’t preachy or gratuitous Bible insertions. When I first started homeschooling I wanted everything to be separate from Bible and didn’t start with HOD. I guess I presumed it was preachy like certain textbook publishers. It’s not. The scripted conversations and little bits each day flow very naturally. Subjects are interrelated, and God should not be excised for the sake of having a secular curriculum. Glad you have “stuck to your guns.”
Great Job!!! Thank you so much for keeping Jesus at the center of your material!!! You guys will be blessed for your faithfulness!!!! Many blessings to you all!
We feel so blessed to have found HOD for our first homeschool experience. We’re hooked, and can’t imagine using any other curriculum. Thank you for refusing to give in on your stance! I pray God would abundantly bless all of you at HOD.
We feel blessed the Lord brought you first to Heart of Dakota, Kathleen! We appreciate your prayers and your encouraging words here. Thanks so much, Kathleen!!!
Stay the course you good and faithful servant!! I have told SO MANY people the reason we LOVE this curriculum is because Christ/God is IN so much of it!!
Thank you for sharing your love of Heart of Dakota with others, Peggy! As we are completely family-owned and operated, we depend on word of mouth to get the word out about Heart of Dakota. We especially you letting others know of our priority to keep Christ at the center – God bless!
Thank you soooo much!! When i was searching for curriculum thats exactly what i was looking for-classical, literature based, with Christ & Bible interwoven. We absoluteky love your curriculum, are on our 6th year of homeschooling (all with HOD) & looking forward to many more years of HOD
When starting homeschooling 5 yrs ago, I prayed I would find a Christian curriculum that could carry us through highschool…I didn’t want to have to always be looking at other options wondering if I chose right. The Lord answered my prayer very early on by leading me to your website through a friend. I can say with confidence that I have found what I have been looking for. I have used all of the guides from preschool, all the way through to using Preparing this coming year. I even went to the largest convention in my area to see if I could find anything better than HOD. I was very pleased that I could not! I didn’t like how some Christian curriculums used very worldly books that left me uncomfortable and wondering how I would explain the clash in our values with these books to my children. I returned again and again to HOD to the wonderful book options I found in it. And the best part…..everything pointed toward Christ in a natural way. Whether through character training or teaching values, there was no way to get around the fact that every book was hand picked to reflect Christ and Biblical wisdom. Thank you thank you! For your hard work in creating this amazing curriculum, and now for standing strong and refusing to bow to “worldly wisdom.
The HOD Christian material teaches apologetics that most parents fail to teach their children. This knowledge supports their faith and makes them better equipped to share it with others. Also HOD provides regular opportunities to talk about moral character, bible study, prayer, etc. at home. Such valuable eternal lessons. I add my thanks for writing your curriculum around God’s Word.
Thank you for your encouraging words here, Jan! The things you have mentioned were priorities Carrie had in writing HOD. It is nice to hear these important things have been noticed and are appreciated!
Thank you for this!! Christ IS the center and I can’t imagine doing school any other way than with Him in the center. HOD hased blessed our family so much. It makes school fun and as easy as can be expected. My oldest son asked Jesus into his heart in the middle of a history lesson. Imagine if I was using a history curriculum that didn’t have Christ as the center?! That precious life changing moment would have been missed! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh, I’m just teary-eyed now, Jennifer! Praising God with you and your precious son today! That IS a life changing moment! Oh, how wonderful are the works of our Lord! Thank you for looking past that negative review and into your own heart for the Lord’s purpose in your homeschooling. We pray for many such precious moments like this ahead for you and your son homeschooling with Heart of Dakota! My son is now in college, and though I am thrilled that his academics from doing HOD PreK- 12th are showing themselves to be strong as he passes CLEP tests and courses quite easily, it is the way I see him having Jesus be a part of his daily life that makes me the happiest. Thanks for your support of our family at HOD – God bless!
In Christ,
Julie
I just want to add my voice to so many others here – I am beyond grateful that you are so committed to keeping Christ at the center of the curriculum. For me, this is just another confirmation that we (my family) are right where we belong – with HOD. Thank you for everything you do, HOD family!
Thank you, Jennifer! We are glad you are supportive of our decision to stay the course, and we appreciate it so much!!!
In Christ,
Julie
May the Lord continue to bless you! So glad you chose to keep HOD Christ centered! It has been such a great blessing to us to use your curriculum! Being Christ centered has been a big part of that blessing. It makes me excited to know you kept it that way!! It has made homeschooling easier for us! Just can’t say enough good about it! I share our experiences with HOD with anyone I can and recommend it above any other curriculum !Keep up the great work!!
We are so thankful for your support, Rebecca! Both in us staying Christ-centered and in you taking the time to share HOD with others! Now, more than ever, we will depend on that – thank you for your support in word and in deed – God bless!
In Christ,
Julie
Just this past week I was sharing with a friend my gratitude for the Bible based curriculum we have found in HOD. I was telling her how much closer to the Lord I have grown these past few years sby simply teaching my children. Every day we are digging into scripture and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much for producing this curriculum, and for standing firm. May God bless you for your faithfulness!
We have found the same to be true ourselves, Chelsea! Each day we dig into Scripture with our children within HOD, we find ourselves learning so much as well! Scripture never gets old – it is the living Word of God and there is something to be gained from reading it the thousandth time just as much as from the first time. We appreciate your support, Chelsea!!!
In Christ,
Julie
I love HOD and that it is centered on God! As many do I have learned so much right along side of my children and this curriculum has incouraged me to dig deeper into things that I thought I knew. My children and I will work together to research things that we are not sure about or did not realize. These are things that I know neither I nor my children will ever forget! Thank you
Thanks so much, Jackie! I’m so glad you are enjoying HOD with your children, and I too have found the things we do encourage us to dig deeper and learn so much together that we remember and cherish! May the Lord continue to bless your homeschooling, Jackie, and we are so thankful for your support!
Thank you Austin family for keeping Jesus at the center of Heart of Dakota!! Our homeschool mission statement is Mark 10:14 “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…” Thank you for not transforming to the patterns of this world.
Mark 10:14 is an excellent Bible verse to choose for a mission statement for homeschooling! Thank you for supporting Heart of Dakota’s priority to keep Christ at the center at a time when there is much (financial) pressure to choose to do the opposite. We appreciate your support!
