Short Lessons in World History
From Ancient Sumer to the high gas prices of 2005, Short Lessons in World History feature engaging text, time lines, maps, pre-reading questions, quizzes, activities, puzzles, and mini-biographies to dramatize critical events and places over the last 6,000 years of world history.
Newly introduced words are bolded and defined in the margins for easy vocabulary building, while “critical thinking” boxes throughout the lessons provide a point for students to stop, think, and apply what they’ve learned.
The perfect add-on to a traditional world history course, this text meshes well with the myriad of other resources used within our World History guide. A glossary and answer key for the assessments is included.
Units include:
- The First Civilized People

A note from Heart of Dakota
Short Lessons in World History has been revised by the publisher to create a new 5th Edition. Since this revision is a major one, it required a complete rewrite in our daily history plans. This has resulted in a 2020 color version of the World History guide.
For those of you who purchased the World History guide from us in the past and are now in need of the updated Short Lessons in World History plans, we are offering to replace your old guide with our new World History guide for 50% off. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, just let us know when placing your order.
The changes to Short Lessons in World History affect approximately 100 days of plans, so trying to use the new version with your old guide will be very difficult.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We pray that you have a wonderful, God-glorifying school year!
