Born in Iowa in 1846, fast forward to 1854, when Buffalo Bill and and his family move to Weston, Missouri. Bill’s father, Isaac, set up “shop” with Bill to trade with the Indians in Salt Creek Valley, Kansas. Later when there was an opportunity to stake their claim, Bill’s father beat his rival, Abel Smith, to the plot and the family set up home. Peace did not last for long.
How did Bill learn so many skills? Mostly from the Indians. When the opportunity to go to school finally came about, Bill was more interested in herding and in 1857 persuaded his mom and Mr. Majors of Russell, Majors and Waddell to let him ride with the wagons and herd the extra horses, mules and oxen. The pay was $50 for the trip.
Bill survived many harrowing adventures – join him on this wild ride in Buffalo Bill: Frontier Devil!
