Post by Mumkins » Tue Jul 03, 2012 4:10 pm

My 4th grade son, 9 in the fall, has not done DITHOR previously. My 6th grade DD, 11 next month, Has done a genre or 2 of 2/3 and a genre or 2 of 4/5.

Which should they do?

It depends on where they are in their reading, writing, and independence. If they are where they should be, start them at the level that matches their grade. If not, let them each go a level lower for the workbook, using grade-level appropriate books.

good advice, blessedmomof4!
I always chose the "easier" workbook and the harder literature. so for instance my 12 year old is doing the 4/5 level but he will be reading books that are closer to a 7th grade level (which is his grade, technically)
