First day of Beyond!

Post by lmercon » Wed Sep 03, 2008 6:51 am

Yesterday, I started Beyond with my ds. It was great! He loved the activities and the readings. It was so cute seeing him grab the Walmart bag and dash off to collect his five things about him and then to watch him give is little oral report about the things he chose. He loved the big map on the floor and moving around it in different ways. He thought he was big stuff because he could spell all his spelling words the first try. He's excited to do school today. I love that it is easy to implement, has a variety of activites, and allows for us to add in the other things we want to do like composer study, picture study, nature walks, piano practice, etc. Good job, Carrie!

We are finishing Unit 3 and are thoroughly enjoying it! I also loved the day that my dd got a bag and collected 5 things. Her story really touched my heart and made me see how very big she is. She told daddy her story when he got home that evening and he also loved it. Though he did ask why she didn't include x, y, and z. She informed him that she "could only pick 5 things, daddy!" :) They grow up way too fast but at least we get the chance to watch them learn and grow by homeschooling. And HOD makes it even better! :D

Enjoy your journey! I look forward to sharing experiences with you.
