Cover of CTC Guide...

Post by Marsha » Tue Feb 16, 2010 2:00 pm

O.K, am I the only one trying to guess what books are on the bookshelf on the front of the CTC guide?

I see the Picturesque Tale of Progress set.

We love to play games expecially when they relate to what we are studying so I am wondering what the game on the floor is?

Ha! I wonder what the game is too. I don't have CTC, but the catalog cover is the same and I had my magnifying glass out to figure this out.

See what you did to me? That's how I spent my evening! So yes, do tell.....

I believe the game is a Senet game - like "20 Squares", and you get to make a version of it for one of the CTC projects! :D
Here are some fun pics showing it:

The bookshelves are mostly lined with Mike's favorite books to read, as he is an avid reader - usually they are very THICK history books. The chair, the rug, the bookshelves, the border on the wall, the wood floor, and the burgundy paint on the wall are straight out of Mike and Carrie's living room. The sword is mine. Just kidding (about the sword, that is)! Anyway, each of the HOD book covers is a window into their home, as many of the backgrounds and objects are from their own house. :D

Marsha,

I had to smile about this one! You are right on the Picturesque Tale of Progress set. The Story of the World set isn't there though. There is a set of Illustrated Classics, a book on Josephus, a biography on Lincoln, the Swan biography series by John Piper, a book of Biblical commentary on Mark, a book on Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem, a set of children's anthologies separated into various genres, My Book House set of children's stories, Hillyer's book A Child's History of Art, and A Child's Geography by Hillyer too.

That's all I can remember for now! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
