Presidents study in any of the upcoming guides?

Post by LynnH » Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:43 am

My son is asking to study presidents. Since he has had very little US history other than Ohio history and what he will get in Preparing this year I was thinking that over the summer we might do a unit study on the presidents. I figure that is a way to get in some more US history. I didn't want to do it though if a president study would be included in a future guide.

I don't know about future guides, but I think that's a great idea for you to do! I'm amazed at how much the boys have learned/asked about after I hung a poster of the presidents on the wall. They have asked about things like political parties, family relationships, and they even called my grandma to ask her what she remembered about all the presidents she has "lived through" :-)

Lynn,

In the last guide within the series we are planning to read about each President (and likely their wives too), however I'm not sure at this point how full-blown of a study it will be as we'll also be scheduling a state study daily that year. I think the Presidents are fascinating, so I'd definitely encourage you to go with your interests and do a study if desired. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
