Please pray..

Post by Amey » Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:23 am

Hi HOD Mamas,

I came here to ask for prayer, because I know you all are a praying bunch...

My husband has been feeling horrible for about three months now with several different types of symptoms from chest pain that presented like a heart attack, to panic attacks, abdominal discomfort, migraines etc. We have now been to a family dr, a cardiologist, a gastrointerologist, an ear-nose-throat dr. and now to another gp.

After several tests, ultrasounds on different organs etc. he was diagnosed yesterday with cytomegalovirus. This virus doesn't affect adults severely and will most likely just pass with him. BUT, it has the potential to make my unborn (I'm 36 weeks preg) baby blind, deaf, or mentally retarded if my husband has passed it on to me. This hit close to home because that very thing happened to my Aunt when she was pregnant. I have a 27 year old mentally retarded cousin who is developmentally about age 2 because of Cytomegalovirus.

Needless to say, I am concerned. I spent yesterday afternoon in tears knowing that he's had this for months and of course we've shared bodily fluids, etc. which is how the virus is passed on. I have an apt. today with the dr. and I'm sure he will have blood tests run on me to see if I carry the antibody for this virus. If I do, we are pretty much in the clear. If I don't or if I already have the active virus, baby will most likely have issues..(according to the statistics anyway)

So, I am coming to ask you to please pray. I don't want to live in fear or think the worst. I just want to be able to know that He is in control..and FEEL like it.

Thanks Mamas...

PRAYING!!!!!

Here's a verse that has been a great comfort to me in the last few days as we waited to see if my mom had cancer.....

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12

By the way, she was cleared yesterday....NO cancer...praise the LORD!

Amey,
I have prayed and will continue to pray for you and your sweet baby. As I was
praying for both of you I was reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 "I know the plans I have
for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future."

In Him,
