Denominational Variation?

Post by mrsrandolph » Mon May 04, 2009 10:14 am

I was just curious about the denominational variation of the group. We are "reformed baptist"...kind of a cross between a Baptist and a Presbyterian : ) HOD works so well with our theology. What are others finding?

We're reformed as well...kinda Calvinist/Presbyterian but not. LOL. We just say Doctrines of Grace. Even though it isn't Calvinist or Reformed, HOD works so well for us as well!

We go to an interdenominational church and believe in the gifts of the Spirit and it works great for us as well.

I don't really consider myself a denomination but we go to a Baptist church and tend toward reformed. :D Basically we take the Bible literally and believe it is inerrant.

I think we are a hodgepodge which is good since we serve with an inter-denominational missions organization. I would say we lean towards being Baptists who believe the gifts of the spirit are for today. My husband came from Southern Baptist background and when I was saved at 21 I found my home in an Assemblies of God church. HOD works great for us..the Bible portions are straight from the Bible and I haven't found any discrepancy with what we believe so far. :D :D

We are Presbyterian, although I couldn't tell you which branch. My husband picked out our church as he wanted one that was reformed and really preached the scriptures. HOD has lined up perfectly with what we hear at church and read in the bible.

What to hear something totally insane? LOL. Hold on to your hats...

I'm the daughter of an Assemblies of God minister and Southern Baptist Mother. The niece of a Methodist minister and a Four Square Minister. The grand-daughter of a Church of Christ minister.

I'm the wife of...

The son of an American Baptist minister turned Evangelical minister late in life.

I attended an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist school K-12.

Hubby and I went to an Assemblies of God university for our degrees but as a family we are decidedly Reformed Baptist in our theology AND...

we attend a nondenominational (not Calvery Church but the minister trained under that) church.

Basically we believe the Bible is TRUE. LOL. And this curriculum works just fine for us.

I think I managed to mention 9 denominations. Can you beat it? LOL. Just having fun.

Daisy, you definitely have me beat. My father was raised methodist and my mother baptist (actually her parents didn't go to church, but she went with a friend). They were attending the Church of Christ when I was born, then a fellowship, Presbyterian, Church of God and finally a non-denominational (oh we also home churched for a while). My husband and I have been non-denominational (where we met and married), then went to Assemblies of God for a year and are now at Calvary Chapel. :D

I consider myself and our church non-denominational. I haven't found anything really so far that conflicted with my beliefs :D

We are Nazarene and although I am not doing Preparing yet I have read a lot of it and I don't find anything that goes against our beliefs. In fact my DH may be using the book "Young Christians Intro to the Bible" to teach a class in our children's area for children who for one reason or another haven't had much exposure to the bible.

We are Lutheran. I have been happy to read stuff about Martin Luther. I have a hard time finding stuff about him while it's easy to find stuff about everyone else. HOD has been fine in our house.
