Will there be a new World Religion notebook to accommodate the new book, Jesus Did Many Other Things? Japan is dear to our heart, we have a daughter/sister who has lived there for 4 years. We may want to use the new book but wondered if it would work with the World Religion Notebook we have.

Hi Tammy! How neat your family has such a special connection to Japan! In answer to your question, the new shrink-wrapped WRC Notebook we carry has been updated to match the new book, Jesus Did Many Other Things. You certainly could order the new WRC notebook and the new book Jesus Did Many Other Things, but as it sounds like you already own Japan Diary and the WRC you got from us matches it, Mike thought you may want to just use those resources. You could use the WRC you have with the Japan Diary you have, but just get the book Jesus Did Many Other Things from HOD to enjoy reading. We'd then send Carrie's updated copyrighted plans for scheduled readings, but the new notebook page would not be included, as it is part of the new shrink-wrapped set only. Either way, no matter what you decide to do, both resources are a fantastic peek into this topic that sounds like an extra special connection to your family! Hope this helps as you ponder what you'd enjoy the most, and have a good Memorial Day weekend!

In Christ,
Julie

Further to this question, for those of us who have Japan Diary, how long do you anticipate us being able to get the pages that correspond to that book? I have 6 more kids who will (hopefully) use my set of WG books, so don't want to have to purchase the new book to go with the new pages, as I assume Japan Diary is still considered to fill what it was intended to (and will match my guide best). Should I be purchasing the pages the rest of my children will need before this and any other book changes render my books obsolete?

Thanks for your guidance,

If I might ask...why is the book being replaced? Is Japan Diary going out of print?

Carrie or Julie, could you answer the last two questions from last year?

Thank you!
Blessings,

I'll quote myself to say, yes it's gone out of print, and the book that has replaced it (Jesus Did Many Other Things as Well: Short Stories from Japan) is a great book!

Having used Japan Diary before with my older 2, and looking through this new replacement book, I much prefer the new book! ;)

Thanks for your guidance,

I understand your concerns....I questioned the same things myself. I ended up just purchasing the new book, and actually like it better. When you purchase the new book (which lines up with the current set of notebook pages for World Religion and Cultures), HOD sends a schedule along to use with the new book. I penciled the instructions in my guide, and made a pocket in the back of my guidebook to keep the folded schedule they sent. You could also fold the new schedule in half and use it as a bookmark in the book on Japan, for while you're in that book (which isn't too long if I remember correctly).

Hope that's somewhat helpful..... ;)

Yes, thank you. However, since I have Japan Diary, I would like to continue to use that, so I'm wondering if that's possible, or if this is another replacement that I am forced to buy, even though I own a complete set.

Are there any sets of NBing pages left suitable to work with Japan Diary, I guess is the question, now?

HOD no longer carries the original World Religion Student Notebook pages. After posting this question, I purchased the new book and the new notebook pages that correspond with the book. The update only affects a few pages in the World Religion Student Notebook. I agree that the new book is enjoyable. Since Japan is dear to my family's heart we will read both books since we own them.
