WG mapping as fine arts?

Our oldest will be moving into the WG guide next year for what would be considered 10th grade. Is it possible for the map drawing in WG to be counted as fine arts credit? Would adding the art history dvds need to be added for credit? Or would doing this really cause him to miss out? The art I have seen him enjoy in the past guides has really been the drawing of maps, designs and things such as vehicles. He has done the the Nature Journal for MTMM but he would do the minimal needed and did not quite seem to enjoy the exercises despite encouragement. We do want him to try different things but as he gets older we want to work with him to tailor his lessons. Thank you for your input.

Hello!

The mapping in WG would not be able to be counted as a fine art credit simply because it is mapping rather than art. It is definitely a part of the geography credit. In order to earn credit in fine art, your son would need to do the assignments scheduled in the "Fine Arts" box of the World History guide. When he gets to that guide, he can earn either a 1/2 credit or a full credit in Fine Arts (depending on whether he chooses to do the art projects or not). The choice is up to him at that point! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you for your help. I wasn't sure but it never hurts to ask.
