New US1 guide question

Can anyone tell me how much time it takes or might take to do JUST the history portion of the guide? (for an average to slower student)
Also, what kind of assignments are given in the boxes pertaining to history? Do they have them do any answering questions or just types of narrations? This is for the main portion & not the government box ect. Information that I could have or would have found out IF we could get to a convention. The closest homeschool convention or the like that I know of is 4-5 hrs away & is impossible for us to attend. I would also like to see just one day of the guide but don't know if this is possible right now. I know the guide is still in the making yet.

We haven't started this guide yet, but I am guessing the history boxes without the living library will take around 45 minutes to an hour, more on the 1x a week narration days. The readings in the books aren't that long. There are around 5 different types of narrations that are very different from written narrations done in previous years. Some of them work on the skills of highlighting important information from multiple sources and putting those into 4-5 paragraphs. There are also map activities using the book US History Map Activities, also questions they are supposed to think about and in my house he will then answer them orally to me, and finally there are Critical Thinking questions from the book Great Documents in US History. Oh and I think there are also some questions in the notebook that go along with the American Testimony DVD. This isn't every week, but I did see that this is sometimes assigned. Seeing just one day probably wouldn't help much due to the fact that some of the stuff gets added in as they progress through the guide.
