World History Teacher Guide

Post by Mamochka5 » Tue Jun 02, 2015 11:44 am

I know the WH guide was supposed to go the printer's in mid-May. I'm just wondering when we should expect to get the final TG?

Thank you! :)

Liz,

Currently I am still working on the Introduction, course descriptions, grading criteria, and book descriptions. Between driving to 5 conventions (due to me being unable to fly) and the busy summer season, it is taking awhile to get that done. With another guide going into a reprint, 4 books with changing page numbers, along with 3 books that we are working to get published that are currently out-of-print, the World History Guide's opening has had to take a backseat to other needs right now.

For those who are wanting to begin using the World History guide, all of the plans for the entire year are available in shrink-wrapped installments as the plans are complete. Those families just need to remove the plans from their wrap, assemble them in a 3-ring binder, and then save the plans to return when the completed guide ships. So, if you'd like your plans now, just let us know and we'll ship them right away. With the other projects on our plate, we are looking at mid-July as a likely ship date for the World History Guide in final form. I wish I could get it done sooner, but there is no rushing the process.

Since I was writing the World History guide all of this past year as we schooled, we had to table some other needs. This puts the Intro. part of the World History Guide lower on the list right now, as families can actually get underway right now without it. It is always a juggling act, as to where our time is needed when.

We are glad that we were able to get the World History Guide out to families all year as scheduled so that they could use it with their kiddos. It was a process, and now we just need to put on the finishing touches as time allows. :D

We appreciate your patience! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Liz, thank you for asking, as I was wanting to ask the same question.

I have my box of wonderful HOD books for the World History in the fall and enjoying looking through them preparing for next year. I am excited to have the guide in hand to see how everything goes together :)

Carrie, we so appreciate you taking the time to not only answer the question, but you are always so great about sharing your heart and family with the board. So grateful to your family for your work and ministry to homeschool families.

Please be encouraged that you have folks praying for you and love the work you are doing. I am not sure how you do all you do. I thought once June hit I would be slowing down, but instead the train just keeps on a rolling at my house. It sounds like your schedule and home are running the same.

Psalm 46 says that God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in time of trouble...

I will continue to keep you in my prayers, as it sounds that your summer is full. It is so easy to wear down. Keep on...Our Lord is blessing your hard work.

We look forward to our new completed guide coming first of August (Lord willing) to start our next school year.

Appreciate you, Mike, Julie, and your boys! Cole did an awesome job packing my box!!!

by His Grace,
Cindy :)

Thank you, Carrie. We are actually finishing up the WH guide, so we already are using the shrink wrap plans. I had received a note with one of the installments saying the final guide would ship at the end of May, so I was just following up.

Thanks!

Liz,

I will be using the WH guide this year. We usually start our year in June, but are having a difficult time getting started without the guide. I just received the shrink wrap plan installments, thanks to seeing in your post that it was available. I've seen some "check-in" posts from Julie that refers to the Introduction for helps on things like using the Geometry. Also, as I have scanned the plans, I see things to be photocopied that are in the Appendix, for example, the "Literary Synthesis Sheet" and the "Word and Idea Helper". How did you complete the guide without these sheets? Are they listed on the web site?

Thanks for your help.

Forgot to ask about the dictation. That's in the Appendix too. :?: -Brenda

The appendix is in the shrink wrapped plan installments. Part of it is in the first shrink wrapped pack and part of it is in the second and maybe the third I forget. I just got mine last week, and when I opened them all up I found the appendix including the dictation.

I just now saw the pieces of the Appendix. I'm embarrassed. I tried to respond before anyone else did. I got stuck in Unit 1 with the references to sheets I didn't think I had. Thanks for responding. Do you know if Level 8 is the last dictation? Thanks.

Yes Level 8 is the last level of dictation. Once they are done with that they are done with dictation.

Brenda,

A letter also should have come with your first installment explaining how to set up each subject area to start your year. If you did not receive this let us know, and we will get it to you right away. This letter explains the pacing for the math. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Carrie,

I'm really glad you responded to this because I didn't get a letter. It will be so helpful! I use those intro pages a lot in getting ready for the new year. I've already sent the request via email.

Thank you.
Brenda
