I was fixing to place an order to Rod and Staff and was wondering if I also needed the TM to accompany Preparing to Build? I see it is listed as optional in the HOD catalog but was wondering if most of you ladies ordered it? Thanks!

There was only one question in the whole book that I wish I had the teacher's manual for. It totally isn't necessary for Level 2.
(The one question was a rhyming word that I just couldn't think of.)

I also haven't used the TM for level 2. I have found the TM helpful for levels 3 & higher, but level 2 is basic enough that I haven't used it.

Unnecessary in 2. In 3, I'd have been lost without in. I did fine without it in 2.

I just wanted to mention - and you probably already placed your order - I do have the TM for 2. I get the TM for every level because I like to read out of my book while my child reads out of theirs. In addition, there are opening review activities in every book. I don't really do them for the level 2 book. But I do love having it so that I can read out of it when me and my child are working on grammar.

I haven't ordered yet....good point Daneale! I think that I would like my son to follow along in his own book. The set is pretty affordable so I guess you've changed my mind lol. I was planning to order it anyways but thought I'd ask what others did. Thanks everyone!

Oh good - you are welcome :-) Yes, they are inexpensive. So I figured even if that was my only motive, it was worth the few extra dollars on this level :-)
