Organizing books

Post by quiverfull » Mon Apr 07, 2014 11:38 am

Is there a tape you can color code your books with that is removable?
I'm in town right now and would love to get something.

Thanks :)

Washi tape is great. Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Joann's all have it. Target and WalMart sometimes have it.

I have used Sharpie Pens and marked a different symbol/color on the spines of my books that go with the different guides. Usually I use the color of the TM to try and make it easier. For the read-alouds I write in pencil inside the cover which genre it is and which guide I used it with (because they could also be used for DITHOR sometimes).

I wonder if this makes them less re-saleable.... but I don't really care because I am going to use them several times before I could even consider selling them and I figure I will have gotten more than my money's worth out of them anyway.

What about those colored "yard sale" dots - I don't actually know the technical term, I just know that's what they're generally used for! Ha!

I used washi tape to color code all of mine. It made it easier for my kids to know which ones were their books.

Thank you all for your ideas :)
Does the Washi tape come off without damaging the book?

Yes. Washi Tape is like painters tape. It comes off easily, even off of most regular paper. It is very popular for scrapbooking and card making right now, so you can find it in most craft stores easily.
