typing of the oral narrations

When typing dc's oral narrations, are we to include the "ummms" and "like, ya know" and "ohhhh, what was his name....oh, yeah, ...." and "hang on, I gotta go back a bit I left this out....." You get the idea  ALL the "extras" (that they already know they need to work on), or do we clean it up a bit as we go. I guess I need to know the end-goal for these. Is it to keep track and evaluate how well they improve overall (in which case, I'm thinking ALL the words/sounds/etc should be included, even though it reads a little.....rough  ). Or is it for seeing what important topics and such were included (in which case I can see doing a "cleaned up" version).

I'm including everything right now (and dd has had quite the laugh at herself  --she's a good sport).....But I justed wanted to clarify the goal here before we continue.

I'm glad you asked this. I was the one that originally asked the question in the thread you linked to and I have to admit I forgot the answer and have been cleaning up his oral narrations  . For some reason when he knows it is being recorded he doesn't do near as well as when I am not recording it. I don't know if it is performance anxiety or what, but the ones he has done so far have been pretty awful so I have had him either stop and do it again or I have taken out the and ums and odd wording when I type it up. I won't do that any more, but I will let him pause and rethink how he wants to say something. So thanks for asking to remind me of how I am supposed to do it.
