CTC Unit 7 History Project Question

Post by ourhsreviews » Tue Sep 17, 2013 7:21 am

We are mixing the glue, toothpaste, corn starch, and water to make the stones for the breastplate and it's awfully sticky! I've added more corn starch but still sticky. For those who have done this, did you keep adding corn starch or just make sticky stones to air dry? I'm thinking I need way more corn starch because there is no way I can roll it out as it is.

I can't help much. I'm sure someone else will, however, I do remember that I found gel toothpaste didn't work with it.

Thanks. I just ended up adding more and more cornstarch until I could work with it. I'm hoping it works out and is dry by tomorrow.

Yes, we had to add extra cornstarch as well. My dd even worked exa cornstarch I to the dough as she rolled it, kneaded it, etc. it did at one point start to get super crumbly so be cautious how much cornstarch you do add.
