Praising the Lord for progress!

Post by Tracee » Wed Oct 10, 2012 2:23 pm

I've mentioned several times that my ds is severely dyslexic. I tried several different reading programs before we got him tested and discovered he has dyslexia. Once we found out, we started him on an Orton-Gillingham program right away. The program was working, but it was very, very slow, and my ds really didn't like it. After a couple of years of this, I started feeling anxious and uneasy just like I did before I knew he had dyslexia. I went to the Lord in prayer, and he led us to a different method called Phono-Graphix. It's working. My ds self-esteem has risen. He actually likes doing the work, and today best of all.....he read a scripture verse to me! I was so excited, and he was so proud of himself. He's not on grade level yet, but I'm so thankful for the amount of progress he's made!

Praising the Lord with you! Each step forward, no matter how bold or timid it may be, is still progress. It melts my heart to hear that he read the scripture to you. That must have been one of those moments that bring an understanding of holding moments in a Momma's heart.

Blessings!
