Dictation level. Where to start?

We are going to be doing Bigger with our kiddos starting in a couple weeks. The 9yr old completed Primary Language Lessons so isn't new to studied dictation and he does really well with it. I have the preparing guide as well and am going to use the dictation out of there for him. So my question is, how do I know what level to start him on?

For my kids I tested them on a few in various spots/levels, (not studied). When they stopped getting them correct I backed up about 5 and that is where they started.
