CTC unit 3 and 4 water color tutorial is up :-)

Sorry it took so long to get this up. Sweet Potato dallied far too long in her independent school work, and killed off Jacob in her narration. Although funny it did delay this post.

Thank you so much!!! I'll be back once we start CtC. I was wondering, would you be able to 'tag' or 'label' these, so it would be easier to find later. Maybe something like CtC tutorials? Just a suggestion =)

(sorry, I tried to leave a comment on your blog but wasn't able)

Blessings,

Those are really informative posts. Thanks! I love the visuals of the step by step painting. I think we'll be referring to these when we get started. :D I wonder if it would be helpful to put the links on the CTC board?

Along the lines of tips and advice on starting the watercolor painting within CTC, my best suggestion would be remember to add water to the paint before trying to paint with it. We didn't know this at first, so my son's first painting was really dark. And we used a lot of paint! We had never used watercolors before and once I realized that we were supposed to add water to the paint and THEN paint with it, it made all of the paintings to follow, MUCH better!

We purchased this paint palette from Miller Pads and Paper, and it worked SO nicely for mixing the water and paint together for each color before my son painted. It made it so much easier for him!

Blessings on your CTC painting, and thanks for the tutorial! :D

Thanks Lisa for the tip, I probably would have forgot to add water.

I purchased a set of palettes from Hobby Lobby that have worked well as well. It's almost like the one Lisa linked to but round. We use them all the time.

So true! I always try to make the tutorials as step by step as I can. I don't always get usable photos because a 10 year old is taking them! But we are having a blast doing these. We do purposely take photos of the pallet as I work so your kiddos can see what mixing looks like. I do use lots of water and show when I choose to add it in.

Thanks for the tutorial! Getting ready to repeat CTC with some younger students. This will really help! :D

It's not only your blog, so it's something to do with Blogger. What I did was take the security of writing the words off and people have been able to leave comments. I have had a few spams as well but not much and I just click the 'spam' button.

Thanks so much for your tutorials. They are so helpful to this visual mama. Many times I'm reading the instructions over and over

We have such a beautiful portfolio of paintings from our time with CTC 2 years ago. Can't wait to do it again next year with my youngest! Very lovely paintings you ladies did! :)
