pics of timeline in beyond?

Post by Maadrose » Tue May 15, 2012 10:04 pm

Does anyone have any pics of the timeline? I thought for sure I had seen some once upon a time but can't remember where!

Have fun with it - great memories being made seeing history build on itself chronologically, one entry at a time! :D

Why is the timeline pictured 4x8, but the Beyond guide says to make it 5x9?

Somebody please answer, we need to start this timeline! Less columns and rows would mean more drawing space but I don't want to come up short.

Hi! We did the timeline a few years ago (and are doing it again this year). You will want to make it 5 columns across and at least 8 rows down...I had made it 9 so we have a blank row at the bottom. The first time we did it we used regular sized construction paper and the squares were quite small. This time I decided to use 12 x 18 paper, and I think it works better. We just folded it on the column lines to store it in a folder.

Hope this helps...and enjoy! It has been fun to look back at the timeline my oldest dd did 3 years ago and I'm excited do it again with the 2 youngest this year. :D

Thank you :D

So the picture posted is not a complete timeline?

The 1800 column seems to be missing off that one. I found another picture in the week in review section: http://s268.photobucket.com/albums/jj8/ ... IM2431.jpg

Both pictures are of my dc. The first picture has another column folded backward behind the 1700 column that you cannot see. We did this for storage purposes. The second timeline is my middle ds's, and we used a 12 x 18 piece of paper for him. HTH!

Another thought would be to put it on a file folder for durability. We did this, and made our boxes bigger so there was room for my children to write and draw a small picture without "scrunching"! We just made our boxes bigger and put a few columns on each side of our folder.

That is a great idea, Lisa! The folder really would add nice durability. :D
