Hey Gals!

I've noticed we have alot of Texans here..(or maybe it just seems like it to me because I am one and I notice more!  ) Anyway, it feels a little like home seeing all of you here as we are now living out of country. My husband is from Houston and I am from the DFW area although we spent the last several years before moving here in East Texas, near Tyler. How bout ya'll?

Hello Ladies!
We are considering a move from our state. The economy here is not good and the jobs are very low paying. It was not like this when we first moved here 8 years ago, but times has changed.
My husband LOVES everything about Texas! OH, I'm sorry....my husband said we must say "The Great State of Texas" when speaking of it.We have been there several times since my son in law is stationed at Fort Hood. My husband has been all over the state and just loves it!

If things start looking like Texas, I will let y'all know and start asking some questions!

Born and raised in Costa Rica, went to College in Mexico where I met my husband (he is from Venezuela). Moved to Texas, after 2 years my husband did too, got married and have been here ever since...that was 28 years ago (married for 21).
We live south of Fort Worth.
Are you planning a Texas HOD get together??????

Okay, I'm not from Texas... but wouldn't a get-together be awesome?! I envision a 'Trekki' type convention where we all dress up as homeschooling moms...oh wait, we already are!

Seriously though, it's so nice to 'meet' people on the boards here, then get to meet then in real life. I've made a friend here, due to the message boards, and we've gotten together twice already. Yeah! :D

We live in a little town called Kempner. It is about 26 miles west of Killeen which is the home of Ft. Hood Army post. Unlike many of my neighbors, we are not active duty military nor retired military. LOL My husbands business brought us here almost 2 years ago. We are learning to love everything Texas. But we do miss our beach. We used to live in Virginia Beach and "lived" at the beach in the summer months.

I love my HOD curriculum!!! Just love it!! And now after reading some of the other threads, think I need to order a catalog.
