So excited! Getting ready to move on to Rev to Rev!

Post by Tree House Academy » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:16 pm

I have been ordering books over the last few weeks for Rev to Rev. Ds12 is finishing up RTR (doing 5 days a week on a 4 day a week schedule) and he has worked so hard! We are all so very excited to move to the next guide. The Science looks AMAZING! :) Just had to share my excitement.

Rebecca that is exciting. I knew that was your plan and I was wondering how it was going. Good for your son that he has worked that hard to get through RTR that quickly. I can't wait until fall to do Rev to Rev with my ds.

Congrats to your son, Rebecca! :D

So glad to hear about your excitement over Rev2Rev! We are pretty much doing the same thing, only one guide behind where your son is at! My son is finishing up CTC in the next few weeks, and I'm currently awaiting my big box of books for RTR.

Enjoy your new books!~

Yes, Lynn, it has worked very well. He has become accustomed to the work load and really does well through it. He is excited that he will be partly through 8th grade when he starts back in the fall. :) Due to some unforseen days off, we are about a week behind where I had planned to be, but that is okay. Ds wants to do some work in the summer too. He is not a studious student until he starts to see the fruits of his labor. This has been really good for him! It helps that he absolutely LOVES the History and Science topics. He has had a great time learning Astronomy and studying some of the greats in the field! He has really enjoyed the Middle Ages too - Knights are right up his alley. I am just so pleased with the education he is getting from HOD. I am so confident in what we do and I feel so BLESSED that God led me here in our homeschool journey!

You both will LOVE it. My dd 14 is especially loving the science sooo much. We have had many unforeseen days off and placement (and attitude) adjustments this year, so she has only now finished week 7 :o But we are on a roll now and having a great time! My daughter is doing the advanced science-today she experimented in the bathtub with a steam boat she built :D

How exciting! My oldest had big plans to do the same thing this year. But due to life circumstances (lots of unexpected travels), she didn't get to stay on that path very long. The good news though, is that since she started out with that in mind, our time set-backs did not put her "behind" where she would have been on a "normal" schedule. So she may decide to start that plan again when she does get to RevtoRev  .

Congrats to your guy! I know it makes him (and you) proud! :D

Thank you all! It will be the first week in April before we get to start...but I like to have all of the materials in advance so I can peruse them! :) The Science looks so cool and my youngest son is even saying that he can't wait until he gets to do Rev to Rev. LOL Unfortunately for him, he is only 8 and in Bigger Hearts! We love it too, though. He is very excited to start Preparing in May, too, though. We will school some during the summer and that will put him ahead too. We love HOD so much that the kids and I really don't see a need to stop for the whole summer!!! I never thought I would say that.

This is exciting, Rebecca! :D :D :D I'm so proud of your ds - he has worked hard and will certainly love RevtoRev as much as RTR! We are enjoying our RevtoRev year so much. Wyatt just read about Sojourner Truth and Harriet Beecher Stowe meeting, and made a quilt pattern like those used in connection with the Underground Railroad. He was inspired! He also is loving Exploration Education. There is just something special about building your own things to experiment with - not to mention the neat connections with the books about the inventors. Anyway, I could go on, but I think you two are going to have a blast in RevtoRev! :D Can't wait for you to start - thanks for sharing your excitement with us here! :D :D :D

In Christ,
Julie
