This unit is where we keep most of the school supplies. The basket on top is a silverware caddy that has dividers which is great for gluesticks, pencils, etc. Also mom's desk with the school netbook.

DH made these great curved shelves that fit into a hard-to-use corner. This is where we keep all our current HoD books. The shape works particularly well with 3-ring binders. :D

And the other side of the dining room with the "school wall;" where we keep the calendar, markerboard, timeline, etc. The top three drawers of the hutch also hold school materials. On top is our Waldorfy "nature table."

Sorry about the multiple posts! I haven't figured out how to insert descriptions between the pics.

Wow! I LOVE all of these set ups!!!! It looks fantastic. I am getting so many ideas for when we move to Dallas this summer. We want to find a house that we can set apart for just a "school room." I love the glass-front cabinets! Where did you get those!?

You all are SO organized! I love those turnabout things. Where did you get those?

Our shelves with the glass fronts (top half glass & bottom half solid panel) were from IKEA. If you have one remotely near you, shop there for storage. Quality & prices are GREAT! :D

We have school in our kitchen/dining room. The first photo is our "buffet" which is actually a bedroom dresser we refinished. It is under the window in the dining room. Everyone has a drawer in the dresser and supplies such as paper, pencils, etc. are kept in the extra drawers. The second photo shows the shelf which is next to the dresser. The baskets hold counters, library books, etc. My husband is going to build me something a bit "prettier, with doors" eventually, but for now this shelf works well. We also have several bookcases in our front hall where the extra read-alouds and other books we don't use everyday are kept.

Love seeing the pictures!!

This year we got our first official school room and I have switched it around so many times. I just can't seem to settle in! We have a lil table off the kitchen that we school at, but we float around sometimes too. We had desks everywhere but those just didnt seem to work as well for us as that dining table, so I took all of them out...now I think maybe one might be ok...

Anyway, I am going to bookmark this and (once I take the time to figure out how to upload pictures here) I will add mine. :D

Keep them coming!!
It is just fun!

This is our reading area. We keep all of the Bibles and books that I read to the boys on the bookshelf. Their picture books are on another bookshelf across the room. We bought the bean bag with our tax return and we love it. We use it everynight and it is sooooo comfortable.

This is our scoolroom. We just turned it from a bedroom into a schoolroom/office for my husband who is also in school. We bought everything at Ikea and I love it. We keep all of the HOD guides, TRL, handwriting, math and science books in the magazine holders. All of our art supplies, pencils and any other school supplies in the various baskets. I still don't have everything organized. On the other wall is my husbands desk and it is loaded with stuff from our Box day but I'm working on it.
