Re: Scheduling help with a newborn...
Thank you both for your words of encouragement. :) Tammy, I do need to rely on the Lord more during this time. I have found that I'm even pushing my quiet time away lately because of being short on time and energy, and that is probably making things much worse. Thanks for the reminder. :) I also rea...

Scheduling help with a newborn...
Hi everyone. We have used HOD for years and it has been such a blessing. However, I had baby #4 a little over two months ago, and have not been able to get school done very easily. I feel like I'm not doing a good job teaching the "T" boxes, or following up on the "I" boxes. We are not getting to qu...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...
Kathleen, I am so sorry you and your husband are going through this, but God is with you and will be with you throughout this trial. He is your refuge, your strength, and your shield. You and your entire family will be in our prayers. Allison God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in t...

Re: RTR questions
My boys loved the books in RTR! The Story of the Middle Ages was a book I was concerned about them not liking, but it was one of their favorites. I think you will be fine. Most boys find this time period fascinating.

Re: Write with the Best 2
Thanks, Carrie. :) My boys are 12 & 13, about to turn 13 & 14. We had the best of intentions for using Rod&Staff the last couple years, but it kept getting shelved for Growing with Grammar, because the boys could use that mostly independently. They useds levels 6 & 7 this past year. I had als...

Re: Write with the Best 2
Thank you both. :) We have used HOD for several years, but have not used the writing suggestions, except for the year that IEW was scheduled. We have been using IEW history theme books and my boys writing skills have improved with IEW. However, my husband would like us to try to use HOD's suggestion...

Write with the Best 2
I received my MtMM package, and it looks wonderful! The shipping was also super fast. :D Thank you HOD! :D My husband and I have been enjoying looking through all the books. He wants to read them all too! :) I am a little worried about Write with the Best. It looks so challenging! It seems a huge st...

Re: How long do you take off after a baby?
Thanks everyone. :) I think I'll get my daughter started in Preparing sometime in July, and maybe get the boys started with math. Then we'll break when baby arrives, and the boys can start MtMM as soon as I'm feeling up to it. :) I am so impressed that some of you moms only took a week or two off. I...

How long do you take off after a baby?
Hi all. :) How long, on average, do you take off from school after the birth of a new baby? I am trying to plan for fall, and am due mid August. My olders will be starting MtMM, so I can't start early with them since the guide won't ship till mid August. And my younger will be starting Preparing. ( ...

Re: some help for 5..possibly 6 kids:)
I think it looks good, except I would strongly consider combining Abby, Zoe, and Cassie in Beyond. Bigger has a lot of writing. (This is my second time through Bigger) If you place them all in Beyond, it will give Cassie another year to strengthen those writing skills. The history in Beyond is proba...

Re: Let me hear you sing the praises of RevtoRev!!!
We LOVE Rev2Rev! :D Every year it seems the HOD guides get better. The connections my son is making in history, because of the chosen resources and the way they are scheduled, are amazing! Science is definitely a favorite with my son this year. My favorite part of the program is the worldview study....

Re: What grade do you consider your 12 year old?
Thank you for all the replies. My boys have July and September birthdays, and they are 14 months apart in age. They always seem to be on the "old" side for their grade. I feel better now that I see some of you have kids on the older side too. Thanks!

What grade do you consider your 12 year old?
Especially if they have a late summer or early fall bithday. Both my olders have late summer/fall birthdays so I'm just curious. Thanks!

Re: Who is doing Bigger this year?
My dd8 and I will start unit 2 next week. We had a wonderful first week (although we spread it out over two weeks) with Bigger! I used Bigger with my boys a few years ago so I know my sweet little girl will enjoy it as well.
