Re: Newbie with a question!
Awww, just chiming in to give you a big (((hug))) and send some encouraging prayers your way! Your girls sound like little sweethearts! I'm using Bigger with my ds8 right now and am personally getting so much out of the daily bible reading/devotional/hymn signing time. My ds has a lot of behavioral ...

Re: My children and I love HOD
Thanks for sharing! I can't wait until we get to use some of the older guides because I want to be able to read all those books too!! Sounds like you guys are having a wonderful homeschool year!

Re: help ordering
We are stretching out Bigger for our son. He started it during the second half of 2nd grade and we are continuing to use it for 3rd grade. You can have your child work on math and LA everyday if you want to have him progress faster in those areas. If he's at a different level in math than what it wr...

Re: help ordering
Melissa gave you good suggestions about placement. The placement chart is the best way to see where he fits. Im using Bigger with a very advanced reader (and writer) for 3rd grade and still think Preparing would be too much for him. For math I'd do a placement test. They have them on the Singapore w...

Re: HELP! I am so confused at what to order.
I was confused the first time I ordered too. What really helped me was reading through the print catalog to better understand what each "package" was for. Basically it allows you the ability to customize all your subject options - so that you're not forced to buy something you don't need for your ch...

Re: AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG
I'd probably start with Little Hearts so that she doesn't reach the other guides too early unless her writing skills are pretty advanced. If you do half of a year of Little Hearts and it seems below her level - you could move up to Beyond in the fall and save Little Hearts for your next little one. ...

Thank you for the feedback Christine. It helps to know that it's not just us that have struggled with CLE being time consuming!

Re: Math Advice for 3rd Grader
Thanks for the advice and suggestions! I will try crossing off some of the ones that I know he already knows. I'll check out Right Start math too- I've never looked at that program before. I probably just need to be more realistic about time frames and accept that maybe he needs more time devoted to...

Page Protector/ Guide Idea
I know some of you unbind your guides and put them in a binder with protectors. I was nearly breaking out in hives at the thought of cutting my guide- but another idea popped into my head that I thought I'd share. I cut the hole-punched side off of some page protectors and slid a weeks worth of prot...

Math Advice for 3rd Grader
Our 8yo 3rd grader is using Bigger Hearts this year- which we love!! We've been using CLE math for him for most of the time we've homeschooled. Last year we switched to Teaching Textbooks for a time because he has A LOT of difficulty listening to me (he does have ADHD & I know this is a big part of ...

Re: Advice about when to start LHFHG
I thought too I would share my daily verse with you that I adopted when my own child with Down Syndrome was born because ever since then it has been too easy for me to 'worry' about her future (health or otherwise) or get overwhelmed with daily life: Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) Jesus said, "Therefore do no...
