I picked Preparing just because of the wonderful history overview and the new independence that my daugher LOVED, but really, all the guides we've used have been wonderful!

We love those cds from Bible Truth music! We play them constantly! What a great way to instill God's Word in our children's heart!

Well, I can't answer for RTR, but in CTC the Apologia text is one of several spines that the students read independently through the year! My dd loved it, & was always excited to tell me what she had learned! I'm assuming that the format in RTR is the same. HTH!
