can i start a thread about food?

i need some meal ideas (breakfast, lunch AND dinner!) :D I am in a rut, and i am in a stage where i need things that are not too terrbily time consuming (i love to cook, but my life is turned upside down from our move!), are nutritious and kid friendly. i know the rule is not to post about anything ...

Re: Balancing time with friends and school

Hi Candice! i haven't had time to read through the entirety of this thread, but one thing i would say is that you should be thankful you have neighborhood friends who are home during the day! i'm sure this can be inconvenient at times, but my dd is always saying in the afternoons in the Springtime, ...

Re: First day with Little Hearts

congratulations and welcome back!! i just love little hearts! i used a different curriculum last year when my dd was 4, and while i loved many aspects of it, it did not touch our hearts like HOD has. i am always amazed at how Spirit filled this curriculum really is! enjoy! :D

Re: phonics question...emergenging readers

i looked at the emerging readers titles and we have a few of these. something i've noticed about them is that she is perfectly capable of reading the words in the books, but it would take her a very long time and she would be very frustrated after the first page or two. So, what does this mean? jus...

Re: phonics question

okay, i looked at the link you sent and i have to ask...DOES IT REALLY WORK? Could it really be that easy?? Can a child really learn to read after only learning those sounds? While I was at it, I glanced at Reading Made Easy and their sample pages. This seems a little more involved, but definitely l...

Re: another combining question - long!!

mommyofgirls, The ladies are doing a great job of talking through some of your options. I'm still a bit confused about when your kiddos will turn another year older? So, if you get a chance to pop back in and let us know when your 3 year old will turn 4 and when your 6 year old will be 7 that would...

Re: for those who do not combine, a question

Pollo_la, You make a good point...I guess there is no harm in both of them listening to each other's. I think having this happen some will seem less "odd" when we are actually studing American History later this year and next year. When the oldest was doing LHFHG (the first half that is Bible histor...

My question: What do your children do whose reading time it is not while you are reading to the child whose turn it is for school? i.e. It's time for dd1's school read aloud time in ...

Re: another combining question - long!!

I don't have much time, but I am reading your post and deciphering it as I clean. Your kids are almost the exact same ages as mine! 8) Real quick, what do you plan on your oldest doing when your younger two are doing LHTH together at ages 5 and 3? Also, what will your oldest be doing when your...
