Grading
The church related school we are looking to enroll in requires 2 grade reports each year. I know I have seen a question on here before about grading work, but I was wondering what would be a good way to keep some sort of grading system to meet this requirement ( without stressing me out, lol).

Bigger: Trying it out!!
OK, I confess, I was so eager to figure out what this is going to be like! After searching around online, I was able to more or less complete day one by finding *A First Book in American History", poem "Four by the Clock", the Bible verses, of course, the hymn, "Holy Holy Holy" and the corresponding...

Re: perusing material
Thank you all so much for your input. It all makes sense. my 2 dc are in ps right now. My son is 9 and 4th grade. and my daughter is 6 in K. Praying about pulling them out in immediate future. thinking of going ahead with LHFHG and Bigger with extensions for them. If not, in the fall will likely do ...

Wondering what your return policy is... If I were to order a package and after getting it in hand, decide it is not the expected fit... Thank you. Also, from the chart, my dd who is now 6 and in kindergarten looks like she will fit skill wise in Beyond this fall. But I wonder if I am missing somethi...

Stepping Heavenward
I am so glad to have found the title and authoress of this book, Stepping Heavenward. I truly enjoyed this book as a young adult before I married and (probably 15 +/- years later) I still remember passages from this book. The Lord used its message years in advance of the loss of my first baby to beg...

Re: Prayer update
Dear Sister, What wonderful blessing to have the Lord to lean on during this time. I too lost my first little one at 19 weeks, a little girl we named Mia Leilani. And oh, how gracious the Lord was to me during this time. Even with all His wonderful goodness, it is painful and a sense of such loss. B...

Have been reading from this board quite a while and had hoped to join the numbers of HOD HS'ers out there this year. Unfortunately, this has not worked out at this time; and although, I have had a heart sick struggle with the Lord over this, I know that He is able to view our circumstances with a pe...

ok. finally at peace. decided what i want for my 2 dc. have a plan also for niece and nephew. If this is truly the Lord's direction, then he will provide, supply, and make the way. in a way, I am so excited, but i also know that my thoughts are not his thoughts, and his vision far outreaches my own....

beefing for 7th grade
Sigh...... I've wrestled with the catalog and the budget and the possibility of having a total of 3 children to place with the least amount of cost. 9 yo (4th grade) who would best fit into Bigger. 10 yo (11 in Dec.) (5th grade) strong in Math and lesser in grammar. Probably could do Bigger with ext...

? R&S placement, also TRL ?
Thank you ladies for your replies. Bigger would definitely fit 9 yo ds (would have been PS 4th grade) better as introduction to this new way of doing school. Would start him in level 2 math. Probably extensions in the reading. I am pretty well settled, except I'm uncertain about the R&S: 2 or 3 ??? ...

Originally looking into HOD fell in love with Preparing for my 9 yo. Then read about Bigger and how good it is and thought for my ds that this may be a lighter and better fit seeing how he is nearly ADD (in my opinion) and a little behind socially / maturity wise. Have considered holding him back in...
