Re: Question for Carrie or Julie about Convention schedule..

Thanks Julie for answering my question! :) I hope I'll get to meet you girls there. 8) Thats a great story Lori, thanks for sharing! I feel the same way about HOD! The one thing that frustrated me as I searched curriculum was that the Bible portions always seemed "tacked on". I never found anything ...

Question for Carrie or Julie about Convention schedule..

Julie or Carrrie, I am wondering if you ladies have the coming year of homeschool conventions/curriculum fair's planned out? If so, will you be coming to Texas and if yes, when? :D Since I live in Mexico I need to plan pretty far in advance to get plane tickets etc. and I am also trying to coordinat...

Re: Pen pals?

Okay, I checked into the postage and it looks like it will be about 13 pesos which, with the state of the dollar right now, will be about $1, which is great. It's less than mailing something to the U.S which I was suprised about. My e-mail is hosea214@yahoo.com if you want to exchange addresses! :)

Re: Pen pals?

Oh yeah, my 6 year old is still very phonetic as well. He would write some things, but I would likely be doing most of the writing for him as he dictated it to me. :D I will research postage and PM you! I just told him (his name is Benjamin) and he is SO excited!! :D :D

Re: What does "Masterly Inactivity" look like in your home?

Hmmm...I'm still not sure I completely understand, but I'll chime in anyway :D Right now, this is how my boys fill their free time: Yesterday I handed them a box of sidewalk chalk and suggested they make a town on the driveway. Off they went to collect their Hotwheels and they were out there for a g...

Re: Pen pals?

I have a six year old son as well who would love to do this if you're interested! We live in Mexico, so it would be really interesting. :D I don't even know how that would work postage-wise??

Re: O.T. For those of you from colder states...,

Fellow Texan here, born and raised and lived there until March when we moved to Mexico. Most people think of Mexico as hot, but where we live in more Southern Mexico it is very temperate; similar to the weather in Hawaii. I thought I got cold easily, but when it's in the 70's here and I take my youn...

Re: HODie Retreat

Oh, I LOVE Myrtle Beach! This is where we always took our family vacations every year when I was a kid. I also took my first steps on the grand strand as a 1 yr old! Lots of warm fuzzy memories there for me! Of course I live in Mexico, so this would be an international trek for me. :( I'd probably j...

Re: Give your opinion on developing Bible quiet time habit

I did not have time to read the previous posts, so excuse me if I am redundant in any of my answers :) 1. What would you like to see within your child's daily quiet time? * I would like to see a chronological progression (even if it is not the Bible in it's entirety) I think having an understanding ...

Re: Husband encouraging a different curriculum

Jessi, I think if you have a library nearby you already have a full curriculum for k! We used SL for K...but mostly it was a bunch of read alouds and then I had to add on Math and Phonics. But, my kids enjoyed the library more than the SL books which left me wondering why I spent all that money just...

We are in the middle of a move so we took off school today to pack and take some things over to the new house. My boys are very excited and they were running around the new house, talking about where to put stuff in their room, etc. I was taking some things out of a box and I looked over my shoulder...
