Re: When will the newest program be up on the website?
I think that Carrie is just now writing the plans out for it, so it could be a little while. As in, she's writing the daily plans so it can be shipped to print. However, when this question came up last the consensus was to budget $1,000 to $1,500 for the Geography guide. I know that's a wide range, ...

Still struggling with concerns about placement.
Hello, long-suffering ladies of the HOD board! I'm back again  This is such a hard decision. Let me begin with the positive: I completely love all I'm seeing of the programs and materials here, and am excited to use each one as we move forward. My kids are still young and we have an amazing opp...

Re: Back To The Drawing Board, Please Help
Maybe you could use MTMM with extensions...because you could buy that used. I know I'm going to have to buy HOD used if we're going to afford it

Thanks for bringing up this great subject! I am a newbie, and we are very conservative, so I am encouraged as I read the reassurances here. I am looking forward to reading all these books as we go along!

Sticky notes I use a big one to mark the day that we're on, and then tiny ones to mark each individual box as we complete it. And the guide stays closed and up high most of the time so that no sticky toddler fingers or muddy kitty paws can reach it, lol.

Emerging Readers question
Hi, everyone :D I have yet another question. I will be ordering Beyond for my oldest this summer. She is a strong reader, but young, so I am planning to use the emerging reader set. However, she has already read The Beginner's Bible cover to cover...several times. She has now moved on to a full NIV ...

Re: I don't think I can do two guides at once!
Welcome! I am sort of a newbie here myself, but I really wanted to encourage you that it can be done! You can do this! I have a first grader, a preschooler, and a 1-year-old, and even though it's hectic...it works. My preschooler is in LHTH, which is simple and fun, but I didn't know about HOD for m...

Re: LHTH too easy for my 3.5 year old
It does make sense to take things a little slow because really, what's the hurry? So true. But so hard to do sometimes  I am the kind of person who would say, "If they can do it, why not?" But I am learning to become a person who understands this: "Just because they can, doesn't mean it's the ...

Re: LHTH too easy for my 3.5 year old
LHTH prepares them very well for LHFHG, but the thing you have to watch out for is as they get farther on down the road. Whereas my 3.5 year old could sit through LHFHG and learn from it and do well, she would NOT be ready for the content of Preparing at 7 (and that's if we take a whole year to get...

Re: LHTH too easy for my 3.5 year old
School Specialty makes a series of books called 'Explode the Code', which are simple, fun phonics workbooks. My daughter did some in K and has continued with them simply because she likes them, and she learns while doing them. :D For preschool, there is a simpler series called 'Get Ready for the Cod...
