Thank you, Heather!
It’s good to know that he can continue doing it without the quizzes and tests. He only needs 1 credit in science this year with lab so I will have him continue forward. He is enjoying the science a lot.

WG ~ Integrated Physics & Chemistry Question
Hello! :D I am wondering if my son is supposed to be completing the quizzes and tests for the Integrated Physics & Chemistry, or not? For example, the lesson today in the guide was to finish pages 7 - 10 in the activity book. At the bottom of page 10, it said to have him ask his teacher (me) for the...

Re: High School Social Concerns
This question made me think of some old threads on this board that made me relax regarding socialization. As a result of these threads, I also read a book that Carrie talked about The Socialization Trap by Rick Boyer. I wanted to share the threads with you. I think they could be helpful to you! http...

Re: RTR problems with page numbers in IEW
I believe this is a busy season for them with shipping. They do answer on this board, but I’m not sure how often.
I would give them a call.
I would give them a call.

Re: RTR problems with page numbers in IEW
I'm trying to accomplish the first day of RTR with my son. This "open and go" stuff isn't working out so well. I hope your second day goes better! I find that I have to spend some hours setting up each guide before the first day of school before it becomes open and go. Here is a RTR blog post of Ju...

Re: MtMM Map List
Hi Renee, The list is on the second page of the second section of the Introduction in the TM. It is under Geography in the Learning Through History Components section. Here is a link from the HOD site for the introduction. The list is on page 10 and 11 of this electronic copy from the HOD web-site: ...

Re: Annotation
Thank you daybreak!
It’s helpful to know that sticky notes would work just fine. We can’t financially afford to re-purchase books either (unless they are consumable and need to). I would think a clean copy would help younger children later on.
Thank you!

Re: Guide Prep Thread?
Hi quiverfull, I Love the set up posts that Julie took the time to do and put onto the HOD blog two years ago. I’m going to link each one for you because I have found them extremely helpful in putting together a to do list for setting up each guide that I’m doing this year. I’ve gone ahead and liste...

Annotation
I am looking at the samples of WG and US History I on-line. I noticed that the annotation is recommended with a highlighter or sticky notes. I have a few questions: 1. How do you re-use the books with younger children once they are annotated if the highlighter is used? Or, do you re-purchase the boo...

Re: Questions about Bible in World History
I want to encourage you in your desire to have your kids or family read the entire Bible. I don’t know how the extra reading would be with the World History (my oldest is in 8th). My encouragement though is it only takes reading 4 chapters of Bible a day to go through the entire Bible in a year. If ...

Re: Dual Enrollment Vs. HOD all the way?
We aren't there yet either, but I have been doing a five year plan for my oldest for 8th - 12th. Our plan does include HOD through 12th. Their spiritual life and Bible knowledge has also always been our primary home school goal. Our plan though does also include a rigorous science / math plan that h...

Re: Switching to HOD from MFW
I haven't used RTR in either; however, from the table of contents it looks like MFW RTR ends around unit 27 in HOD RTR. Thus, it would only be the last 7 units of RTR that you haven't covered. My boys love the Diana Waring CDs. They are easy to listen to in the car. If you purchased Volume 2 and lis...

Re: 1st year doing HOD as a full time SAHM - what would you
Thank you Daneale! It is great to be back with HOD! :D I always wanted to try and put my own year together. After doing it for two years it made me truly appreciate Carrie's gift as a curriculum author who builds skills into the content subjects. :) I found I can schedule books easily enough, but my...

Re: 1st year doing HOD as a full time SAHM - what would you
Thank you Daneale for posting your schedule! :D I Love seeing another mom's schedule. It helps to see it. If you wouldn't mind sharing, what are you having your kids do for exercise early in the morning? I like your idea of them getting exercise prior to school work. Up until this past year mine wou...
