World Geography World Religion has a new book

Will there be a new World Religion notebook to accommodate the new book, Jesus Did Many Other Things? Japan is dear to our heart, we have a daughter/sister who has lived there for 4 years. We may want to use the new book but wondered if it would work with the World Religion Notebook we have.

Re: Common place journal

We continued to use the same book from year to year. My son, who likes science, started a scientific inquiry in a journal. We learned that Michael Faraday kept a Common Place Book, that was a neat discovery.

Re: WG literature questions

Robbi, In the WG plans for reading literature it doesn't matter if you choose the boy or girl literature. The student reads the assigned pages and completes a follow up activity. The activities include orally narrating, writing in the Common Place Book, or completing written narration. Also, there a...

Re: Placing DS16 - World History w/ writing difficulties

Katerina, My son just completed WH and sounds similar in skill to your son. WH provided numerous opportunities to develop critical thinking skills in the history portion of the guide. Too numerous to mention so I'll only mention those from history. "You Are There!" has opinion narrations and graphic...

This is a post from when my son went through. We took a year off from HOD to build his writing skills (cursive and written narration). He is now in 10th grade in World History. I think 9 is a good age to do Preparing.

US History 1 American Testimony DVD

I'm making a schedule for the American Testimony DVD set 1 in AH1, but I can't find the assignment for Disc 4 Chapter 6, "War with Mexico". It seems to be a topic for unit 25. The American Testimony DVD Disc 4 chapter 5 is viewed in unit 24 day 1, and Disc 4 chapter 7 is viewed in unit 26 day 1. Doe...

WH "You are There!" And DITHOR

Carrie, Thank you for the excellent resource in WH, "You are There!". Our whole family has been listening to this radio drama. I love the skills that this resource is teaching. Also, my dd was inspired by "You are There!" to complete a radio drama for her final 6/7/8 DITHOR mystery project. This rad...

Re: 1st year doing HOD as a full time SAHM - what would you

Daneale, How exciting to be a full time SAHM. I recall when I became a SAHM, and how it took a mental adjustment. U was so blessed by the opportunity. In regards to MTMM, what I enjoyed most was the state study. I made a state study notebook too. We also enjoyed visiting many state locations that we...

Prayer in WH

Good morning,
As I am preparing for WH I haven't seen a "Preparing Your Hearts for Prayer" like the one in WG and AH1. Did I miss it in the appendix? I have appreciated the "help" as my children are growing in their faith and making prayer central.

World Geography book Mystery in the Frozen Lands

Carrie, I noticed that the book Mystery in the Fozen Lands in the WG Living Library reading schedule does not match up with my book. Some assignments end in the middle of a chapter. I thought I had figured it out until today when I see that tomorrow, Wednesday, the last reading assignment is page 13...

Posting how it's going in the high school guides

Carrie, I noticed that there isn't a spot to put how it is going in the high school guides. The topics stop at MTMM. Will you be adding WG, WH, AH1, and AH2 topics? I'd love to share how much we are enjoying our year. I'm sure others would like to share too. It may help those who are considering HOD...

Re: Microphysci kit in World geography

Laura O, Wow, my daughter is also on Kyushu in Kumamoto. She has enjoyed her time in Japan despite being in the devastating earthquake (7.6) last April. She has always loved Japan. In the World Geography World Religion course there is a book, Japan Diary, that was somewhat difficult to read. It's ha...
