Re: MtMM and Literature for 9th grade
Thanks! If I read correctly in the link, I have to find some reading for 9th grade lit and leave the Brit lit selections in WG and WH? And it will be enough? What will she read for lit in 9th then during MtMM? Wondering what would the English credits be named then for 9th grade through 12th if start...

MtMM and Literature for 9th grade
I've been mapping out dd12's progression through HOD. She's in RtR now. I was confident with using MtMM for 9th grade except literature. Since she'll only get through 3 of the high school guides, she'll miss Brit Lit, and she needs this in our state for graduation. Any ideas on how to accomplish thi...

Re: Balancing RtR and Beyond
Thanks again! One thing with our start this year is we've started, then had VBS for a week, then we are started again for 2 weeks, then the girls are leaving for grandma's for a week. That's why we started a little early because of these interruptions, but we haven't been able to get our routine/flo...

Re: Balancing RtR and Beyond
Thanks all! I started my 6th grader in level 5 R&S and my 7th grader in level 6 to work over the next 2 years. The material isn't difficult at all, it's just the reading portion. Most of the time, after I read the lesson, they don't understand until we do some sentences together, then they grasp it ...

Balancing RtR and Beyond
I need some suggestions or schedules to balance RtR and Beyond. We do history and storytime after lunch, so I'm not trying to fit everything in during the morning, but I would like to finish the rest before lunch (we start at 8:30). Is this just a dream now? The Rod and Staff Grammar is taking longe...

Re: Getting Ready to Start up again
We've already started, the week after the 4th, though we had a week break for July 4th and the girls will be at grandma's for a week the first week of August. We'll go full on until October, when we can have a week break. I normally do 4 weeks on and 1 week off, but those 2 things will eat up some o...

Re: New to HOD, Independent Boxes
Thank you all for your responses! I'll have to chew on everything before we start. There's always a time when we first start up for finding a groove and then settling in. It's always a bit rocky when we first start out after a long break.

Re: New to HOD, Independent Boxes
Then again, faith is such a personal thing, I can't force her to do something regarding her relationship with Jesus... Thoughts?

Re: New to HOD, Independent Boxes
Thanks Melissa. I've been eyeing that personal quiet time as well, wondering what my DD12 will do with it. As far as I know, she doesn't tend to lie, but she is passive and a bit lazy :? . I was thinking of having her write out her prayers, but I still don't really feel comfortable checking i...

Re: New to HOD, Independent Boxes
They haven't done much of step-by-step instructions. I suppose there have been some times they've done this, but not on a consistent basis. I didn't even think of the science experiments! DD12 is at a time where she wants to do her own thing more and more. We may have to meet together for a while fo...

New to HOD, Independent Boxes
Hey all! We are new to HOD this upcoming year. Since I had already purchased much of a different program bit by bit for the upcoming year, I am in the position of having to use the books. Since both girls place solidly into RtR now, I'm planning on using Rev to Rev in full after this upcoming year. ...

I would like to know the answer to this question too, so maybe Julie or Carrie will chime in?

Bumping this for you! I might suggest something like Sequential Spelling at her age, but listening for others' thoughts as well.
