At the bottom of the blog I show examples of Kitchen sponge, crumpled paper towel, and a cotton rag.
I had a sea sponge which I think is the best for doing this type of leaf dabbing.

My kids love the Sharpie erasable pen it has liquid graphite. After a few days it is no longer erasable.

Re: DITHOR BOOK PLACEMENT?
it depends on your kids reading level, if they are 2/3 grade lvl choose that one If they are 4/5 reading lvl pick that one.
There is also a book list you can buy for 5$ that you can use for DITHOR and the books are usually in the library.
Hope that helps.

Re: location of subjects
quiet time any where you want...
all else at kitchen table or (school table in your room if you are distracting your sister.)
I do allow Dithor reading in the reading nook.
Mainly because I have a dawdler who works well with supervision.

Little Miss Sunshine and I are having a blast, I absolutely love the accountability it has created in our school.
If I have a rough day this is one of those things I would skip.

Re: Help our Art Projects are a FLOP....
We didn't have waxed paper so we used a white crayon and I made her press really hard.
This project is still on our fridge from 3 years ago lol!
I wonder if maybe a tips and tricks section could be put in each of the programs so if the directions confuse us moms that we have some where to go.

Re: How to keep child's full attention during lesson?
Like raindrops I used to use a doll (and still do... oh man did I just admit that) for my 13 year old. I have her be the dolls part, so she reads as the doll, or the she gets a turn then the doll gets a turn with the child reading/doing both parts. It's more like play and less like work... Some time...

Re: Question on CTC Unit 1 Day 1 Reading about History?
One of my daughters takes notes and gives me the answers to all the questions orally
the other daughter who struggles in this area does only 2 questions and just writes the answers and then shows them to me.
I don't think either of these approaches are wrong its what works best for the child.

They like it so much they got up and spun a round. At dinner we were talking about them, my hubby mentioned when he...
