Re: Two Questions:

Thanks Julie. In this particular instance, I was looking at the extension pack for Bigger. We already have Pedro's Journal from doing Preparing this year, so I was looking at subbing for that. Not sure what I will do yet, although I like your idea. I will take another look at the catalog. Thanks!

Two Questions:

Hi All, First, I would like to say how much of a blessing you all are! I have not posted much, but I have definitely haunted the message board continually. I love reading every post, even about guides I am not to yet! Anyway, I am sure that if I searched long enough, I would find the answers to thes...

Re: My 8YO's handwriting

I am not a good judge of handwriting, but I wanted to address your question about the notebooking page. My 8yo son is in Bigger right now, and what I have done to help him with his history & science notebooking is to use a Sharpie to trace the lines on a piece of wide-lined notebook paper. Then he p...

Re: DITHOR Workbook?

I believe I have read that the copyright does not allow copying. You would need to get a copy of the workbook for each child.

I do not know how to post links from my phone; but if you look on page 10 of the "Let's share our schedules" sticky, I think you will find what you are looking for. HTH!

Re: bigger over 2 years?

We have done Bigger at 1/2 speed 4 days/week this year for 2nd grade. Next year, I plan to use Bigger at full speed 4 days/week. This has worked really well for my 7yo ds. I will do all 3 of the younger guides 4 days/week for my youngers coming up. Because I also have a son in Preparing, doing 4 day...

Re: Is Bigger for 7 yo too much??

With my younger kiddos, I plan to use Little Hearts, Beyond, and Bigger over 4 years. After that, my plan is full-speed ahead! :D We will see what life throws at us, though. I just like Preparing as a 4th grade curriculum. Then one guide/year. My 4 1/2 yo and 6 yo will be combined in LHFHG next fall...

Re: Is Bigger for 7 yo too much??

There are many ways to accomplish this. For my 2nd grade son (who will be 8 in May), I decided to forgo Beyond and use Bigger for 2nd and 3rd grade. I wanted to keep him on a 4 day schedule because his older brother is using Preparing. We have done the right side of Bigger 4 days/week. For the left ...

Re: Has anyone done the same guide twice in a row? Advice pl

I know you stated that LHTH would not be enough for your ds, but I wanted to share what has worked really well for us this year. We have dd (turned 6 in Feb) doing LHTH with our dd4 this year. She also does the Math, FMS and The Reading Lesson from LHFHG. Next year I plan to combine them in LHFHG us...

Re: what grade should I call the kids? (for AWANA & co-op)

In WI, the cutoff for PS is Sept 1. Going by that, they would be K, 2 & 4. I don't know what your state says. That being said, I fully intend on starting my 4 yo (5 in Dec) this fall. I just won't tell the state about her until the next year which will become her "official" K year :-). HTH!

Re: Preparing or Maybe Bigger?

This is our first year with HOD. We did Preparing with my 4th grade son (turned 10 in Nov). It has been an AMAZING year! We have loved it. I also have been doing Bigger with my 7 yo 2nd grader at half speed. You could do that with extensions, but I think you will love Preparing.
