Re: The Reading Lesson

I am using it now for the 4th time (with my 4th child). We have always just done a couple of pages each day and then moved on. If they didn't seem to "get it", I moved on anyway, knowing with continued repetition, it would sink in, and it has! We also don't review before we move on, as I feel (espec...

Re: finishing ER 2/3's of the way done the year

I'm in a similar situation with one of my kiddos, and I am just letting her read the 2/3 books for now and having her narrate to me what she read. From DITHOR experience with my older two, DITHOR is extra work and a bit overwhelming right at first for them, so if she is finally getting grounded in h...

Guilt over "lack of involvement" with older studets

Hi ladies, I guess I am either looking for encouragement or constructive criticism on how I could do things differently...or both. :D I am struggling with feeling like I am not too involved in what my older kids are learning in school (CTC). I am blessed in that HOD has taught them independence, and...

Re: DITHOR 6/7/8 student book for 5/6 book pkg?

Is the 6/7/8 book set up to finish over the course of two school years (half one year and half the other year) like the 4/5 book is? My son is really an over-achiever and will be very frustrated if I put him back in the book he just did. So I guess I'm just confused as to what will happen if I put h...

Re: DITHOR 6/7/8 student book for 5/6 book pkg?

He did finish the book. I just didn't now if it's too early to move him to that next book? I think I read somewhere though that for book pack 5/6 you can choose to do either student book 4/5 or 6/7/8.

DITHOR 6/7/8 student book for 5/6 book pkg?

Last year in Preparing, my son was reading DITHOR book pack 4/5 (for his 4th grade year) and using the level 4/5 student book with it. Well, he loves to read, and I just couldn't keep him from over-reading and reading ahead. Needless to say, it didn't work to do half of the books last year and save ...

typing - Write With The Best

Today in Write With The Best (we're in CTC), my son had the option to write his paper or type it. He wanted to type it and did a great job. My question is...when and how do I teach him to type correctly...with proper hand placement? Is that something HOD covers at some point? I would greatly appreci...

Re: Singapore 4A-6B Answer Guide doesn't match

Molly, THANK YOU so much!!! I had checked several times to make sure I was looking at it right and to make sure I was looking at 4A, but I had not noticed it was broken up into "textbook" and "workbook"! I assumed there were only workbook answers, so I didn't even think about checking that aspect of...

Re: Singapore 4A-6B Answer Guide doesn't match

I did not check copyright editions, but ordered them both from HOD, so assumed they would matched up. I guess I will have to check into it further.
