Non-auditory learners?

Hi, We have been trying to use Bigger, but have had problems this fall (including us being sick for several weeks, then I was pregant/contantly tired and miscarried at 7 weeks, then sick again), so are WAY behind already. I wanted to have my girls do the same work, but it just is not working at all,...

Re: Week In Review 9-19-08

Once again we got though only 4 days of Bigger this week. :/ I had planned on 5 days, but then on Thursday evening my husband invited another HS family over on Sunday afternoon. Ack! Guys just don't get that women need to have their house clean and need to cook for it!! So instead on Friday/Sat we d...

Re: Phonics Program? What do you use?

We use Explode the code. My girls LOVE it. The books are very simple, not flashy at all. They are also very inexpensive.

Re: Weekly review, 9-11-08

Last week was our first week of school. Over all it went well (we did 4 days because we HAD to go grocery shoping one day and since we are 30 niles from the closest Wal-Mart, it takes all morning to shop. We plan to go only once every 2 weeks instead of every week now that school has started). I am ...

Kathleen - that's it!! THanks so much! I'll let you know how it goes with the questions. If they do not go with the passage, I'll just make up some of my own. :D

Emerging Reader - our Beginner's Bible has a torn page

HELP! With my younger DD (age 7) we are using the Emerging Reader schedule in the back of Bigger. We have The Beginner's Bible . It is an old copy but we can still use it. BUT as I was looking though it I found that a page is torn and you can't see the whole text on the page. Could someone PLEASE lo...

Re: Which packages for my children?

Julie - my children are almost the same age as yours and I decided to do them together with Bigger. For my older dd (who will be 10 in Oct and is in '5th grade') I am using the extension package and DITHOR. My younger dd just turned 7 (in June) and will be in '2nd grade'. I used HOD with my younder ...

Actually I thought of that...plus I would like the dictation for an older child. Since my daughter's journal spelling is awful, I want to try dictation vs. spelling. She usually does very well in spelling, but it is not being reflected in her writing.

BIgger & Singapore Math 4A/B

I will be doing Bigger with my 2 girls this year (ages 7&9). With the younger one, the math 2A/B in Bigger will be perfect, but the older one needs 4A/B....does anyone have a schedule for this one? I have not used Singapore math before so it is new to us. If I remember right, there is a schedule for...

Thanks to all replies! Carrie - I was going to ask about the grammar when I saw that it was suggested that you go with 3rd or 4th grade grammar even at the 5th grade level. We are currently using Easy Grammar (grades 3/4) & Daily grams (grade 4), but she is having a hard time with it, so should I ha...

Yes, I did look at that and my older one would fit in the older one, but the almost 7 year old would not. The almost 7 year old would fit fine in Bigger (she will be going into second grade). I did see that they have extentions in Bigger for 4-5th grade (the older one will be in 5th grade in everyth...

Which book?

I have a 9 year old (10 in Oct), a almost 7 year old and a 2 year old. I am looking for something simpler to do for school then what I did this year (KONOS...love it but with a 2 year old it is hard!) and am considering this. I am looking at which book I could use for both of my girls (will be in gr...
