Re: Younger guide questions! :)

Since your son is on the lower age range of the guides, I doubt that spreading them out will put him below grade level. Alot of people don't use Beyond till 2nd grade so if you think of it that way you are a year ahead. Even if you stretch them out, you will probably finish MTMM by 8th grade and the...

Re: Help! I'm drowning in Bigger!!!

On the notebooking pages for science and history, I just draw a couple of lines if there is alot to copy. For instance, on the science pages, I use a ruler and draw 2-3 straight lines at the top for him to copy his verse and then leave the rest of the page blank for him to do his drawing. On experim...

Re: How to Plan for Days Off

I agree, we just take the day off and then pick up where we left off. We are almost never on Day 1 on a Monday. At the beginning of the school year I get a calendar and plan out our holidays, breaks, etc. DH works for the state and gets most holidays off so I try to make those days off for us also. ...

Re: Ladies I am totally overwhelmed

I have no advice on getting everything done, but I am definitely praying for you! Being a wife & a mom is hard work by itself, adding homeschool in the mix is just one more thing and can be overwhelming. I've had those days myself. For me having a schedule/routine helps alot in not feeling overwhelm...

Sounds like you had lots of fun! I agree with the other ladies, wiggling is normal at this age. I always read during snack time so he had to be still.

Re: New and questions

Hi and welcome to the boards! I'm sure you will find all the ladies here extremely helpful! I can't answer all your questions, but I'm sure others will chime in. I'll be using Saxon math with my children as Singapore has not been a good fit for us. Is anyone using Saxon? How much time does it add to...

First Day of School!

Today was our first day back to school. We finished up last year in the first week of June so we've had about 6 weeks off. DS is in 4th grade doing Bigger Hearts. We are doing the guide as written with the exception of using Saxon Math because it's what we've used since Kindergarten and I'm too big ...

Re: When is everyone starting school?

We finished up June 6th. Then we had a week of VBS at church and then 2 weeks of vacation. We are taking this week and next week to relax but plan to start back on July 14th. We never take long breaks though. Samuel gets too restless when he is out of the routine for very long. But, I am not super s...
