yes, and walmart is even cheaper I think. Walmart also has the best giant paper clips that are 4 or 5 inches long. I LOVE those things! One package with a bunch in it is 99 cents, and These are great for marking where we are in books, workbooks, teacher manuals... I'm addicted to those things. LOL

OOOH! If all you want to do is "organize" the book than I have an easy (and cheap) solution!! On my bigger and Beyond books, I put these on each of the sections I needed quick access to... biography, poetry, etc.... And they're removable without any damage to the book, so I can take them out and sel...

I bought a used copy of DITHR that someone had cut the spine and put a spiral binding on it. I really would prefer the original binding to the spiral, but I really dont like spiral, so maybe I"m biased.

my 8 1/2 son is very weak on reading. We have him doing 2-3 pages of Explode the Code/Beyond the code (super cheap workbooks that are awesome) and then we do Phonics Pathways/Reading Pathways (amazon.com). Both are simple, fast, effective, and do not step on any HOD toes. All of that takes less than...

I chose Greenfield Academy (street name we live on)

Also, the boys designed their own school shirts (for field trips) and I made a teacher's badge (every time I ask for a teacher/homeschool discount around here, they ask for a teachers badge so I broke down and made one! HHHMMMPPPHH!!!) LOL

Have you looked at the placement chart? That is VERY accurate and I totally trust that chart! LOL I have both Bigger and Beyond and just love them both. My 6 1/2 son is a perfect match for the beyond-- especially the history that is really awesome. The history in Bigger is written in a manner that r...

I'm using that now with my 8 year old and a little with my 6 1/2 year old. Usually Carrie has us doing 2 pages in Bigger. 1/2 to 1 of those pages is usually instructions, the rest is work. I read them the instructions/info, then show them what I expect to do and they (so far) have been able to do it...

Thanks for the advice! I pulled out his handwriting for the last 2 months and asked HIM to read his (printed) words to me-- and he couldn't. It was just too messy. The specialists want him to eliminate handwriting completely-- I disagree and refuse. He CAN do it, it just takes more practice... Anywa...

He tunes out during cursive, isn't learning What to do?

First, we have him on Handwriting without Tears Cursive. I considered the Cheerful cursive, but couldn't find any samples, and really wanted something SIMPLE. My oldest (8 1/2) has dyslexia, dysgraphia, and a problem with fine motor skills. Long story, but he's finally learned to do a messy version ...
