That is great!! I'm so happy for both of you---seeing fruit in our children after all of the "work" is a big encouragement to keep on going. Thanks for sharing!!

Re: Carrie is a genius
Thanks for listening to all of my posts! And for encouraging me to move him up to Preparing. He has come alive and loves it so much more. (although he would never admit to liking school!)

Carrie is a genius
I think most of us know that already, but I just encountered something else. :D I just bumped my struggling reader/writer up to Preparing. I thought he would panic when I would have him read independently the different things Carrie schedules to be independent. We have done the first 3.5 days of uni...

Re: Schoolwork is a race
I highly recommend getting them each a guide. Even though my 2 are sharing the other resources and I have them scheduled to do different boxes at different times, not having their own guide would be very difficult. There is so much to read in each box and they need to keep referring to the guide thr...

HOD use All American History Vol. 1?
I see that Vol 2 is used in MTMM, but I wanted to make sure vol 1 isn't used somewhere that I'm missing. I'm purging and didn't want to purge it if we will need it!!

Re: Reading curriculum choice HOD or BJU
I'm pretty sure that everybody on here will recommend going with HOD! :) DITHR is a great program and the other beauty with using it is that Carrie has the guides planned with using DITHR in mind. The subjects and times are balanced each day in the HOD guide. Any time you use a different program for...

Re: Hello, considering CTC
I'm sorry that you feel discouraged from the answers you have received. I think sometimes, just like with texting, these posts don't get written the way the person is really thinking-we leave out info that we were thinking and things get lost in translation. :) Sometimes there is so much behind an a...

That does help. Thanks! She love to "do school" and begs to do it each day. Such a switch from my last 2 boys! The beg every day for a holiday!

Re: Hello, considering CTC
Which guide is it that you see that the grammar is the only issue? If you only looked at the placement chart for CTC, make sure you look at the other guides to make sure that CTC isn't too easy.

Re: We started Preparing!
Those are some busy and tough guides on the mama! The great thing about this guide for him is that he is excellent at drawing and he is incredible with seeing how things fit and sizing etc. He wasn't as thrilled with the Draw and Write book as he thought he'd be because he doesn't really want to dra...
