Re: Advice in changing my Kindergartner's program

Hello. Just wanted to give an update! Today, I had my 6 year old do his handwriting, math, and phonics, and join his younger brother for the entire LHTH. He LOVED it. Instead of "competing", he seemed to step up, just like you said might happen, Carrie! He let the four year old answer the first two ...

Advice in changing my Kindergartner's program

Hello guys, I have written before on here to ask about my children who are in LHFHG who did not seem to be able to answer any questions from me reading "Reddy Fox", etc. Well, the wonderful advice to stick with it and wait for them to develop the skill of listening worked wonderfully for the two 1st...

Re: Drawn Help Needed!

Wow, I can't believe this... I've been using the same book for Storytime and DITHOR. I do a few pages of reading out loud to the kids, then they each do a couple of pages out loud (2 kids in the same books, 3rd and 4th graders). I always wondered why there was some overlap with questions in DITHOR a...

Re: Extra practice for Singapore 1A

Aw, thanks guys! Yes, we are calling her Lily Jane - the whole thing. She is named after my great-grandmother (Lillie Jane), who I can't wait to see again one day in Heaven! She was a wonderful, Godly woman.

Re: Extra practice for Singapore 1A

Hi Julie, No, that was exactly the type of detail I was looking for!! I will try that on Monday when we start back after the break. And, I hadn't thought of adding more practice as not solving the problem, Carrie. So glad to have more experienced moms here to help those of us who are new to homescho...

Extra practice for Singapore 1A

Hi guys, I've seen the recent discussion regarding not needing to do extra practice with some levels of Singapore Math (3A was what was discussed) because concepts are reviewed again and again at greater depth in Singapore. Two of my children (DS 1st grade, age 6, and DD 1st grade, age 7) are curren...

Ours is Steps to Wisdom Homeschool Academy, because that is what I'm striving for... to teach and lead my children to have Godly wisdom above all things, step by step.

Oh thanks Carrie! That link was perfect! Just what I needed to read. I had searched for something on this, and hadn't found it. So I really appreciate you linking me in to that!

Re: Anybody here doing LHFHG?

Hi! We are using LHFHG, and are on Unit 4. The kids and I are loving it. I'm using it for a Kindergartner and 2 1st graders. My older kids (BHFHG) join in for what they like from LHFHG too, such as the story time read aloud and some of the Rhymes in Motion. They also loved the game with "Mother May ...

Should I stop Reddy Fox?

Hi! I'm using LHFHG for a Kindergartener (age 5 1/2) and two 1st graders (ages 6 and 7). We are REALLY enjoying the entire thing and they love doing school. But they are never able to answer the questions from me reading Reddy Fox. They are listening well, it seems. But they just don't seem to get i...

Re: Introduction of a newbie

Well hello there my friend! Glad to see you're on here. Don't know if you know it, but M. was not on board at all with my grand ideas of homeschooling at first, or even up until just before we pulled Ben out of PS. I even wasn't sure! I had been thinking about it since Ellie was a Kindergartner! Slo...

Sheila,

I can't think of any words that could really help lessen your sorrow. But, just know that I am deeply sorry that you have lost your precious little one. I pray that the Lord comforts you during this tough time. You and your family are in my prayers.
