Re: DITHOR - Is this plan okay?
I have a 7 year old that can read easily on the 4/5 level but writing is a little tougher than reading for her. I let her pick as high a level as she can comfortably read but she uses 2/3 DITHR. It works wonderfully. Your plan sounds great!

Re: DITHOR-Teaching 2 Levels
We started DITHR this year. It is one of the best parts of our day. :D I am running three DITHR guides. I thought it would be too much but it has really been effortless. I am sort of an open and go type. So I call them all in at once and we do all three levels together. I am pretty sure it is not in...

Re: OT: Please pray for this young woman to choose LIFE!
Praying she will choose life and salvation. I also have an adopted child that was saved from abortion. Fortunately the birth mother's efforts did not succeed and God saved my daughter. Praying this child is protected as well. And praying He will send someone to speak truth into her life on all fronts.

Re: Failed experiment has real life application
What a great story! In real life experiments don't go as planned all the time and you do not always find what you thought you would. Sounds like your son is really learning to think.

Re: Running mult. guides = epic fail for us :(
Wow! You have gotten some wonderful advice. :D I completely agree with what Carrie adn Julie are saying. I wanted to add one thing. I have learned that even the most capable child and the brightest really needs the accountability of having to show all their work. I have all my kids and especially my...

Re: Need Advice, Wisdom, Thoughts
Thank you ladies. I started reading the history and storytime again. My oldest was very happy! My youngest was less than excited. But he ended up liking it, especially story time! So thank you for re-directing me back to that important aspect of our day. It is helping. Yeah! I am so happy for you. ...

Re: I came back
Welcome back! :D Contentment is a good thing. I am glad you have found it. Your plan sounds great. I lean with Julie on pulling your oldest into RTR now. You will love it. We ran it as a highschool course last year with my oldest and now we are doing it again with a younger set. You will love it. It...

Re: sigh.....
Also just wanted to say I am praying for you. Sometimes the best prayer I can make is the one to God that says show me how_____. You fill in the blank. He always honors that especially if you are looking for His ways. So praying God will show you how in your situation with your conditions. Hang in t...

I agree with the 13 year old! :D That is so great. It is all those things I never get to and now we finally will through HOD. Oh my the younger kids are going to be jealous of this. But I like that suspense and giving them something to look forward to later on. Can't wait to see and use it! :D

Re: All the Things That You Love About Preparing?
There is nothing like it out there. Nobody has a program that takes kids through a tour of all history before they go intensively through each time period. To me that is very important. It helps them to assimilate what they will learn later and how it fits in the big picture. :D No other program doe...

Re: Need Advice, Wisdom, Thoughts
I am not sure I am understanding it correctly. Forgive me if I am not. I think you are having your 11 year old do Bigger with the extensions and he is also reading what is listed in the guide as what would be read aloud. If so I am thinking that is the problem. It sounds to me that he might b...
