I finally got mine on Monday. I love looking at it from cover to cover. It helped to remind me why I have chosen this program for my children.

I also think LHFHG would be a better fit. That's what I ended up doing with my 6 yr old daughter and I used the grade 1 materials. This was a much better year than the previous one when I tried LHFHG when she was 5. She wasn't ready for most of the activities at that time.

Woo Hoo!!! Very exciting. We'll also be doing Beyond...not sure when we'll start though. I want to finish LHFHG first and we still have 12 units left.

We're using LHFHG for grade 1 with my 6 yr old dd. She also kind of placed in the middle but I knew that Beyond would be over her head. This is just perfect for her.

I love Singapore's Early Bird math. It is fun, short and kids learn a lot. I recommend it.

Thanks Carrie. It has crossed my mind yesterday that there may be days when dd doesn't want to do 2 lessons, even though it still doesn't take too long. I'll make up a new schedule and see how that goes.

I have decided that I will finish the guide before moving on the Beyond guide. I calculated that by doubling the lessons, we'll finish by the end of May...so things look good...

I grew up in Canada so metric is familiar...US standard will be another story for me...but not sure how to help you. I am buying all of the books. Just don't like the idea of going to the library all of the time. It's also small so not as much of a selection at times. I try and find them used like on bookmooch & paperbackswap online book swapping sites, yard sales, freecycle, library book sales, etc...
