Re: OT-This happened very close to me, and has me worried.

Not trying to get too controversial, not step on any toes :D , but I personally do not trust WorldNetDaily as a source for accurate information. In my opinion, their columinists are purposed to create agitation and stir up unrest. They've been predicting a new American Revolution for quite some tim...

Re: Is she holding her pencil correctly (pic included)?

How old is she? I would say leave her alone and let her work her self into the correct grip for HER. :) I'm a lefty too and people say that I hold my pencil "wrong".

Re: Cheerful Cursive

Can he do his lessons on different paper? Maybe he can just use regular notebook paper.

Just a thought that popped in my head, my oldest is 8 so no where near where you are. :)

DS Struggles W/Bigger

Summer, I would definitely go with Julie's suggestion to go half-speed with Bigger Hearts, allowing your son time to grow into Bigger more. What parts is he struggling with? If you give Bigger at half-speed a good trial run (a month or so), and it isn't getting better, you could consider combining ...

Re: Ok Girls, what are you thinking about doing NEXT year!

I don't know what we are going to do next year. I am REALLY wanting/needing to combine my boys. They will be 1st grade (twins) and almost 3rd grade. We are doing Little Hearts now and Bigger Hearts. Bigger Hearts is a struggle for my (now) 2nd grade boy. I rushed him through Beyond last year...

Re: Meal Planner

That's a great one! Here's a couple more helper sites. I use this first one and it's an amazing help! http://www.motivatedmoms.com - daily planner that lists household tasks to be completed and a Bible reading to read the Bible in a year. AWESOME! http://www.chorebuster.net - helps equally assign c...

Re: Not sure what to do for next year.

My kiddos will be 2nd and 4th next year. We are doing Little Hearts and Bigger this year. My son will not work on anything by himself while I do something with little sis, he must see and comment on or participate in whatever she is doing. Bigger has been a challenge with my 8yo, mainly because of ...

Re: Copywork for Beyond

We did Beyond last year and I would make a copy of the poem to keep in his notebook then ds would copy from that. At the beginning though, I would write it on the chalk board and he would copy it from there. He still prefers copying from the chalk board for some reason...

Re: Handwriting with Beyond Little Hearts for His Glory

There is copy work in Beyond with the Poetry lessons and then also your dc will write their spelling words. But there is not a scheduled handwriting curriculum like there was in Little Hearts. Cursive is schedule in Bigger. Handwriting is easy to schedule in though if you feel like your child needs ...

Re: Do you find it difficult to get it all done?

I started out using Sonlight and I was not able to get it all done. But I also had 2 year old twins on top of one being in Kindergarten and it was my first year of homeschooling. I have struggled w/HOD too but it was ME not the program. That was a hard lesson for me to learn, I am not an organized p...
