Birds of the Air Link
We've been using a few links fairly regularly and I thought I would share them with everyone. www.enature.com is mentioned by Carrie in the TM. Here are two more we like. www.whatbird.com (for North American birds) http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/ (for looking up all those UK birds mentioned in the ...

Re: How is CTC going for everyone?
We are having a great year as well. Also on Unit 17 this week. I love how my daughter is making connections with history and Bible. CTC really gives her a wonderful mix of creative projects and strong academic content. There is enough variety to keep my daughter engaged with the material and yet eno...

Re: Bright kid, confused mom....curriculum junkie issues
We just have a stack of library books that follow same time period/character/topics. I like that because it allows us to read more of them when we have time and just do the TM as written when we don't. We are spreading BIGGER out over 1.5 school years so I always have 2 days that I need supplemental...

BIGGER - Comment from son
He walked over to workbox number 3... "MY FAVORITE!!!" ...grabbed the book, jumped (yes, jumped, grrr) onto the couch, and snuggled down deep. His favorite part of the day are the Eggleston books. He loved hearing about the school teacher, Benezet, today. He drew all kinds of parallels to his own da...

CTC - Comment from Daughter
Just had to share what Lydia said this morning... "Mom, I LOVE Bird of the Air. It is the best book ever and the pictures are sooo beautiful!" "Oh, no, we are almost done with our history book. I don't want it to be done!" Thanks, Carrie. Oh, and we are baking our cookie dough statue today. That is ...

Re: Freedom Train question
My ten year old read it in August. She had a strong understanding of slavery in America. I don't think the book has anything so graphic, you'd *need* to discuss the book. Daughter and I just discussed it casually with open ended questions like, "So what do you think it was like growing up black back...

So uh, does the egg need to be refrigerated or left out on the counter? Hopefully, someone knows the answer before Thursday.
