Re: Week in Review - Feb. 25 to Mar. 1

Okay...this will be my first weekly check-in, and I'm excited about it! :D Newbie alert, lol. Sorry about the size of the pictures...I will keep working on my picture-uploading savvy. LHTH Unit 2 Noah's Big Boat We were excited to move on to a new story this week, but DS mourned for A-A-Adam so much...

Re: LHTH too easy for my 3.5 year old

Hello! Julie gave you some great info, but I just wanted to encourage you that you're not alone. My son is 3 yrs 8 mos and LHTH is too easy for him too. But...we're still doing it. Why? Because he loves it. :P As we go along I may add more stuff in, but at the same time I don't want to rush. His fin...

Re: Read aloud - how do you choose?

I have been greatly enjoying this thread :D We are a 'love to read' family as well, and until I read this thread I never would have dreamed of only doing one story time with multiple guides! I am happy to know that most of you read them all anyway...because that would be my plan. I really appreciate...

Re: Starting Little Hands to Heaven

Good morning! I'm new to HOD myself, but my almost 4-year-old is doing LHTH and loving it too! You have a beautiful daughter, and she looks like she's really enjoying it. :D Unless you are planning to put her into a charter school or christian school, etc., I don't see any need to either worry or hu...

Re: LHTH- When to start during the year

There are no seasonal activities in LHTH so you can start anytime :D I am just like you...as soon as I received it I wanted to start. In fact, I did  Have fun!

Re: First day!

We've finished the second day, and my little guy loves it more than ever. We've done A-A-Adam 4 times today! I can tell this is going to be exhausting, but fun  And all three kids looked at me like Mommy was going crazy when I started taping a big A on the dining room floor! He's beyond learnin...

First day!

Our box arrived today! This was our first day of using LHTH with my son, and he did enjoy it. By far the biggest hit was the finger play. Who knew? I was extremely skeptical about them, but decided to go at them with gusto anyway, and both my big kids loved it! My 5-year-old was even more enthusiast...

Okay...here goes

Earlier today I made my first HOD purchase :D I guess I'm in with both feet now. I didn't have the budget to buy both programs I'll be using now, so I just ordered LHTH for my almost-4. I think that not only he will enjoy it, but I think my almost-6 will join right in and love it too. I am looking f...

Okay...math question!

So I'm new, researching Little Hands for my soon-to-be-four-year-old and Beyond for my almost-six. I have a question about the Singapore Math used with Beyond. Now, I know that I can use whatever I want for math, but it would just make it easier to open and go, which appeals to me. My daughter is do...

Re: New to HOD, and have some questions.

Oh, and I also wanted to add that, in the spirit of relaxing and slowing her down, I am planning on doing the R&S English 2 at half-speed or even slower...she just doesn't need to cram all that in so fast. And even though it's easy for her now, I assume that at some point the more abstract concepts ...

Re: New to HOD, and have some questions.

Your daughter can definitely do the higher math and english with Beyond. But, at her age, you would not want to go beyond the history readings and stories that are in there. Thanks for your reply! My hesitation at moving forward is exactly the same as yours: I didn't want to miss all the great thin...

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I did want to add that I've been reading through some of your more recent topics and you are an inspiration to me! I am just now trying to really fine tune what works for us, and your experience and helpful insights have already helped me! Thanks!

New to HOD, and have some questions.

Hey, everyone! I am happy to be here. My name is Sara, and my wonderful husband and I have three great kids ages 5, 3.5, and 10 months. We are a conservative Christian family with a vision to raise our children in the Lord, and part of that for us, as for many of you, is homeschooling. We have not y...
