Getting Ready for CTC
We start school July 30, and I have been busy gathering materials and making sure everything is ready. I thought I would post some pics of what I'm doing to get ready for CTC. This is just one way of organizing for CTC. :D Put tabs in the teacher's manual for Poetry and Narration tips. I would put o...

Re: Why Do the Crafts? (Activities)
My daughter tends to work on her projects first most days. She loves them! She is a very creative young lady. My son needs more prompting and occasionally tries to get out of doing the projects. I am making a mental note to try and praise his efforts more and take more notice of his projects. Julie,...

Re: Week In Review Sept 19-23 2011
Resurrection to Reformation Unit 7 We had a great week for Unit 7. In fact when we were wrapping things up last week on our last day, my son piped up and said, "I can honestly say we've had a great week mom!" Yay!!! :D I think we are starting to find our groove. The biggest hit of the week was the ...

Re: Art Supplies
My daughter recently used some of my catalogs to cut up for a project in her PHFHG guide. She used a Knitpicks yarn catalog, a flower catalog, and The Victorian Trading Co. catalog. There are tons of free gardening catalogs out there, and the yarn catalogs are great for the amount of colors in them....

Thanks, Lourdes. :) Stephanie, you should do it you will love them! Haha Patty! I'm sure she would love to hang out on the shelves. They are...

New Bookshelves! Yay! :)
I am so excited right now because we did some organizing in the school room today and I love it! My husband built some wonderful book shelves for me. Here is the link for the bookshelf plans that my husband used----> http://www.frugalhomedesigns.com/2010/01/20-diy-book-display-4-shelves.html I'm als...

Re: Week in Review Sept 12 - 16, 2011
We had a great week! It all seems like a blur to me now but I know we had fun. :D Resurrection to Reformation Unit 6 I decided not to do the extensions in Medieval History based writing for a while and this alleviated a lot of the frustration for my son. He is also out of From Bondage to Freedom in ...

Re: RTR Extension Time
Thanks, Julie! :) It's good to know that the other books may be easier. He got a little behind on the extension last week (the last 3 chapters) so I read them aloud to him this weekend just to boost him up a bit. He starts Black Horses for the King tomorrow, and I will have him read a little aloud t...

Re: RTR Extension Time
I have read a few pages for him here and there when he feels overwhelmed. Now that I'm thinking about it I may have him read a few pages aloud to me just to make sure it isn't too advanced for him. He did say that he doesn't find it as interesting as the other books that he's reading for History and...

Re: Week In Review Sept.05,2011 to Sept.09,2011
Resurrection to Reformation Unit 5 Enjoyed another week with RTR. :D Things went rather long this week so I'm going to really try to tweak the schedule a bit and see where I can help him. The extension in Medieval Writing and the Reading Extensions seem to be adding more time than I think they are ...
